Can you tell the German government? I'm not sure they've realized....

Dr. Hubris's avatar

That is because they are OFF offshoots; they believe they can solve anything by throwing money at the problem. Most notoriously, Annalena Charlotte Alma Baerbock said that they will have "social programs" for people that cannot afford the higher energy cost.... For frakk sake; the unsolvable part of problem is not the cost but the lack of availability. That sad moron believes that they can print... energy.

Common knowledge Harris has an affliction also known as Trump Derangement Syndrome. It's when common sense and logic fly out the window, and the only thing left is a raging fascist zombie. Someone should do a study on this.

Erik's avatar

Someone should remind Sam Harris he loves “Trump’s vaccine”. Maybe his TDS head will explode.

The NSA is a powerful adversary. I'm sure they have reasonably good models for how subversion spreads. Nothing contradicts Substack being a containment effort. Without it, we might be waving signs on the streets.

Jim Marlowe's avatar

I'm not a sign waver. But if we're speculating how about a "Let a hundred flowers bloom" analogy, where we are helpfully outing ourselves with our posts and comments only to be purged or forced to the gulag when it becomes necessary.

I saw a video recently where Trump was saying that Germany was becoming totally dependent on Russian energy and then they showed the German delegation smirking at him. I don’t know where this was or what the situation was but it seemed pretty prophetic.

sturmudgeon's avatar

If you saw that video "recently", then you are well 'behind the times'. President Trump was in Office then, and that particular video has been played and replayed countless times, on countless sites.

Billy Bob's avatar

OK, but it came true!

Vonu's avatar

The Germans have contracted a very bad case of American hubris.

edelamsee's avatar

Germany relied on Russia for over 50 years and Russia not once stopped delivaries except now, when German rockets are killing Russians again. Show me one agreement which US , especially under Trump, has not broken? Just one! BTW: picture was taken in Bundestag, which Trump was adressing. This Buntestag is full of traitors, driving Germany's economy at hig speed to total destruction, i.e. the US main goal for 100 years

Vonu's avatar

One can only laugh when it becomes apparent that the sanctions that the US and the EU had placed on Russia is making them wealthy and hurting the US and the EU. The ruble is worth more now than at any time since the collapse of the USSR.

edelamsee's avatar

sancion help USA since it now sells fracking gas to Europe at about 10 times the price Europe payed for Russin gas. These sanctions were designed by USA to wreck Europe, especially Germany

All Germans will have to switch to Schnaps it is like antifreeze ,the beer will have to wait till next summer .

Vonu's avatar

The Schnaps will be frozen as well.

joe stuerzl 85's avatar

Not if you drink it faster than it can freeze

Vonu's avatar

Which would eliminate its antifreeze capacities.

But first, a hard crash...

aj's avatar

have to destroy it all before you Build Back Better

Vonu's avatar

Have to destroy it regardless of whatever might follow.

Original Owner's avatar

If it all plays out, one result may well be that after the population is reduced to starving or freezing, with Special Drawing Units given out to the survivors in return for uncritical adoration of the authorities, those who saw the whole thing coming and didn't hush will be the first to be loaded onto the Gulag trains (or whatever the new name may be).

It's clear that every country's NSA-equivalents know all the relevant identities to whatever degree they want to.

Vonu's avatar

The United States is pretty much unique among western "democracies" in having a blatantly military organization that is embedded in the military as the NSA is in the Pentagon.

"Members of the Corps all hate the thought of war.

We'd rather kill them off by peaceful means!

We only want the world to know

But military, civilian, or corporate, the increase in the power of technocracy to whack every mole seems close to asymptotic.

If you hated the war bad enough to abstain from it, it would never have happened.

Yes, NSA should be its own entity like the CIA.

"Perhaps, for the first time, some of the states will simply ignore the government-imposed restrictions. Even if only one or two do it, that might be enough discredit the whole mythology of containment." Good idea. If a few local governments (in all countries) would start defying these ridiculous rules, we might have the start of a constructive rebellion!

Perhaps ? ? ? People will FINALLY begin to understand they DO have power ! ? Prior to Covid we were already developing such a victim mentality in regards to so many issues, now, post covid, it seems the entire country has just adopted the victim mentality and the pathos of hopelessness just seems to hang in the air everywhere, along with apathy. Is this also part of a "plan" ? Hate to get into all the "conspiracy" thinking as that too is now demonized and held up to marginalize people. It's very frightening to see total shifts in mass "thinking" !

sturmudgeon's avatar

Suggest you watch The Epoch Times videos by American Thought Leaders, or go to Dr. Robert Malone's website to check out the 'Mass Formation Hypnosis' video by Mattias Desmet.

Ann Marie's avatar

As I pointed out, the thoughts, opinions, and possible goals of all this, as set forth by Malone and many many others, have been labeled "conspiracy" theories, and Malone and others have been marginalized, "cancelled", and even retaliated against for setting forth their ideas, something that once was encouraged in our society and especially in professional settings like university departments of research. Now... ? ? ? Straight out of the playbook by Alinsky; isolate, marginalize, eradicate, etc. etc. ! Have you tried to purchase (or find in any library) a copy of Camp of the Saints by Raspail since we adopted our "open border" policy ? Nearly disappeared, an immensely engrossing "science fiction" novel in he tradition of On the Beach, Soylent Green, etc. Raspail's engaging classic novel of the possible ultimate outcome of "open borders", will run you around $1,800 IF you can find a copy ! Has been smeared as "racist", and it's a science FICTION NOVEL. Too bad, it's a very good read, as are his other books like Who Will Speak for the People, and others.

Where I live, the local government saved us from many stupid things. It was the 1st time in my life that I have appreciated having more than one layer of government above me.

Perry Simms's avatar

The globalists and socialists push the lie that centralization of power solves social problems.

It doesn't. It causes them.

The main reason decentralization of power is better is it limits abuses. It's easier to escape a local tyranny to a neighboring district that doesn't impose it.

Ann Marie's avatar

Yes, exactly. And how many people STOP and think, just what is a "big shot", who makes them "big", why do so many accept this and put such people on pedestals when they are so clearly lacking in not only skills and intellect, but morals, ethics, etc. etc. Yet, they are the very ones we flock to. I've seen multiple examples of people in depressed areas allowing the LEAST capable among them to be their representatives, to be led by people considerably less ethical, insincere, and so on. Just look at the number of people now who have been shown to have personally benefited monetarily from the coffers of organizations such as BLM and so many others. People give MORE consideration to purchasing a new CELL PHONE than they do to who is going to RULE OVER THEIR LIFE ! Go figure ?

saw one last week alone in his car. Hilarious. They may take offence but I am laughing out loud in mine. No more mask on this face

Ann Marie's avatar

Yes, and occasionally someone on a bike... you can't help but turn and look again, it's so hard to believe. I try to think... hummm, perhaps they are just trying to avoid swallowing an insect while riding ? But seriously, now that there is enough data to analyze and the results of this masking, physically, mentally, and socially have shown the entire spectrum of horrifying results, and STILL people are buying and wearing these things in such quantities ? ? ? Long term oxygen deprivation has permanently damaged that many brain cells ? ? In the USA the effects on student academic achievement levels from this 3 year deprivation are devastating... a future electorate even more under educated and incapable of choosing ethical leaders.

INGRID C DURDEN's avatar

Leonidas's avatar

Good for Markus Söder! It’s awful hard to drink a beer with a mask. Söder sounds a bit like the Governor of Texas, Abbott. He pushes deep state and big government behind the scenes or out in the open when he has political cover, BUT is astute enough to know when it’s time to throw the people a bone. A politician that a fair weather friend is slightly better than one who has no care at all about what the people think.

Random thoughts evoked:

Look at all those rictus grins surrounding him. Do any of them reach the eyes?

As for cold winter, well, you get what you vote for. Unfortunately, you also get what a lot of idiots vote for. Remember that half the constituency have IQ scores below 100 for starters, and that the majority of humans are emotional herd/pack animals prone to believe what their fellow apes closest around them believes, meaning that unrestricted democracy will always devolve towards pandering to the 2/3s most easily frightened into hysterics, greed, envy and jealousy, rather than the minority with the knowledge, integrity and moral fortitude necessary to make democracy a viable option long-time (remember: when it comes to using democracy to select rulers, it is just a baby with lots of teething problems).

Up here in the north (very tempting to play the old "where we get real winter"-card but having experienced winter in Berlin in a BZ squat way back when I'll refrain from doing so) the situation is now approaching critical so quickly the socialist democrat prime minister mrs Andersson has been making nocies about what woud in practice be re-nationalisation of power production and to completely stop transferring any electrical power from Sweden to abroad.

Industries are now closing down, everything from paper mills to bakeries. But not the server stations for Facebook, Twitter, Amazon and assorted - because due to a deal with the Socialist Democrat party they get power equalling an entire nuclear reactor for free, in exchange for monitoring and manipulating searches and debate and sharing of knowledge deemed "misinformation" by the party.

Perhaps the german parties have made similar deals?

pebbleanttoast's avatar

Thanks for the report from Sweden! Very interesting, that you are also having significant trouble with energy. I've also heard that Norway is having trouble generating enough hydro power due to the drought, capping the amount of electricity it exports and using more of its own gas.

And yes, those smiles looked pretty fake to me also.
