One thing they all have in common though is an extraordinary capacity for wilful ignorance.

The reason this continues is because more often than not when its "My" tribe that's in control "I" don't call them out when they're doing this because it's "my" tribe . This unwillingness to recognize and call out your own political parties Bs/non-sense results in the majority party in power not being kept in check by both the public and the institutions. In the US if it's an establishment (a controlled candidate) who is in the heugh office and controlling the rest of the legislative branch(s) you'll get a small amount of this but not what there should be. It's only when a non-establishment controlled person gets elected do we see any serious attempts at keeping the in power party in check.

The mask are meant to humiliate and strike fear; deep down in the amygdala, exploiting the most baser of human instincts/emotions.

People don't think so well when humiliated. Same is true with FEAR. Combine the two; and they literally don't believe that lies exist.

They are a Swiss Army Knife! They are DANGEROUS!

Indeed they are the linchpin. There would be no mandates or 2nd class citizens had people stood up.

They are the first testing of the waters that let the Titanic sail.

They must be REJECTED in FULL.

There's no other way out of this.

Sorry. It sucks. Binary choices are rarely fun. But easy.

This is a Binary decision. The other option is Bondage.

Think about it.

Expand full comment

I do agree in part.

The masks didn't come first - at first, we had the lockdown and school closures, and only THEN did the mask mandates start.

By now they've become a pseudo-religious symbol, I agree. I also agree that humiliation is the point - not seeing FACES it the point. To be honest, by now I can feel my heartrate go up when I have to be in a room with a lot of masked people - you can't see faces, only eyes that never smile.

Expand full comment

You got that right. I feel uncomfortable too with all these masked people. Automatically I think of bank robbers, bandits, so what I do is, I wave and say hi, and most smile behind the mask and then you see their eyes narrow. Yes, they are people. Some even took off or lowered their makss to say hi back !

Expand full comment

Reminds me of living in the middle east. You'd see the eyes crinkle on the corners above the niqab on women when they smiled at you. But you'd never see their faces unless you were in the ladies' room or in a restaurant when they'd lift their niqabs up to shovel in some food. It's just wrong.

Expand full comment

I'm going to push back....gently.

The mask are a low energy pathway, but also the most dangerous.

The lockdowns are not. They were only going to last so long, until the Globalist realized they were cutting off their nose to spite their face.

The pivotal moment was in mid April of 20', when the boards of large corporations figured out you could substitute mask for distance.

Think about it.

So am I. I am relatively sure they'll try to do mask mandates again in the fall. By that time I will also count as unvaccinated again, let's see what they come up with to harass the unvaccinated...but on the whole I think I'll be poised and friendly and smile at people when I tell them that it's gonna be a long winter and I will either shop at their place without a mask or shop somewhere else.

The mask is a psychological tool of reinforcement. It re-enforce the idea that there is something more serious than there really is. The non-stop obsessive reporting so as to make outliers look common is another tool by which teh direct public opinion psychologically. In the US it's a fact that cops are less likely to fire on a person off color for fear of the repercussion of doing so then on a white person and yet the media has Black America convinced that cops hunt down Black people as some kind of sport by obsessively reporting on any incident of a cop shooting a person of color.

Paula, I thiink that Germans are really victims of a very sophisticated propaganda system that has installed itself here. 90% of the students in our journalism schools (very prestigious...) are self proclaimed left wing greens. That tells you all you need to know. The state run media is extremely well funded (9 billion yearly budget!) and it is totally left wing, green. The private news and media are also infiltrated by the 90% leftist greens. Most Germans do not realize they are being subjected to constant propaganda. They agitate constantly, against nuclear power, against coal power, against right wing people (conservatives), pro LGBTQ, pro refugees, pro vaccine, pro masks, you know how it works. Think New York Times with 9 billion in funding and 8 TV channels, 20 radio channels, very professional web based channels. A high end propaganda machine.

Is it part of some "Plan," most are now seeing it for what it is.

Here in Georgia, Southeastern US, Stacy Abrams is claiming Governor Kemp made it easier for criminals to carry guns by signing the bill that made it legal for citizens to carry guns! And it is going to cost lives! She even has some excuse for a cop on with her.

Well, we should have just made it illegal for anyone to have a gun, is her answer!

Berlin is a hellhole, hate that city. Crazy people, unfriendly and neurotic people. I now live in the semi rural deep south (next to France and Switzerland) and it is like a little paradise here. Great weather, lovely mountains, beautiful nature, vineyards all around us. Relaxed but conservative people live here, corona rules were often ignored. Our neighbors hosted a massive garden party in the deepest lockdown in March 2020 and nobody called the police or anything. We openly celebrated our daughter's birthday with loads of kids in a public old castle ruin, without masks or anything and people walked by and smiled when they saw our illegal birthday party.

The public infrastructure is great, hundreds of successful companies pull in tons of money from around the world by producing high tech engineered goods and machines. Excellent schools, great playgrounds and parks, good public transport. There's giant public swimming pools everywhere to enjoy life with your kids for a few Euro entry fee. Everyone is cycling or walking (although every family has a big, nice car), even small kids roam the streets and woods without adult supervision. No unemployment, no crime, no police, no homeless people, no open visible drug problems. The few unemployed, the lazy and the sick get a flat and enough monthly money from the government to shut them up. I love it here.

But our government is about to destroy our little utopia here, these fuckers want to take away our energy, they will weaken the industrial heart that makes my region prosperous and peaceful. They also flood the country with foreign young men, they infiltrate our city in ever larger numbers, creating problems that were unheard of until a few years ago.
