The first rule of everything, is loyalty to your friends. Substack – despite some disagreements – has been nothing but a friend to me. It is the first platform I've ever contributed to, which bothered with that at all. Makes you think.

You don’t want Twitter to to eat your nether regions. You don’t know where it’s been.

👏🙌✊

I just tweeted this at Elon—delighted to know you're standing with Substack, too, eugyppius:

"Congratulations, @elonmusk, you just Streisand-Effected Substack Notes from oblivion to stardom as independent writers such as @mtaibbi & @boriquagato announce their allegiance to @cjgbest & @hamishmckenzie's @SubstackInc. It's not too late to fix this." (https://twitter.com/MargaretAnnaAl1/status/1644439773862563840)

I had a small Twitter account perhaps 300 followers. I was PERMANENTLY SUSPENDED some time ago without warning - denied appeals or information about what rules I allegedly broke. I am a physician I think that is a clue.

Your post makes me want to buy a second founder's subscription. We could all use a little irreverence now and then. As the Mencken quote goes: "Every normal man must be tempted, at times, to spit on his hands, hoist the black flag, and begin slitting throats."

Never had a Twitter account. Never will. Like overdosing on heroin or grappling with opioid dependency, I don't feel as though I've missed anything. The jury's still out on whether Musk is a fraud.

Yes, absolutely. As I said elsewhere, a tool is only as good as its usefulness. I found you via Twitter and now I know where you are.

And a guy whose business model is EVs and space litter and plundering the earth and seeing China as indispensable to the growth of his fortune was never gonna be our friend.

The benefit to this latest action though is forcing all of us to get smarter. That's an evolutionary advantage we should not neglect.

If AI could derive from Substack, AI might be something valuable. But coming from the big IT world of psy ops I don’t care to name, AI will be just another brainwashing, history removing, indoctrinating monster at the highest levels. Everyone with brains must leave now. Make that AI SOURCE nothing but garbage in - garbage out!

I read almost that same reaction from several Substackers ! Never been on twitter and never will, it is a pity that you can no longer inbed twitter messages because some were really good, but we can do without. Substack is better no matter what. Long as you are on it, too !

I wonder how long substack can hold out before government sponsored censorship or ideological capture

Leave it!

To anyone who has studied Musk this should have been entirely predictable. Actually, studying Musk was not necessary. All we needed to know was that if We the People were looking to another eccentric tech billionaire to save free speech, we were simply being fools played a second time around.

Furthermore, in regards to the individual, Musk has never, not once, as far as I'm aware, directly questioned or criticized the Big Tech model itself, and yet it is the root of so many of today's problems, or at least the elixir that has made them all worse. On the contrary, Musk has embraced and is doubling down on the Big Tech model we've had now for over two decades, the one that finally brought us the Covid era.

Those who really want to understand what Big Tech is and what it's doing to us all should read Shoshana Zuboff's, 'The Age of Surveillance Capitalism: The Fight for a Human Future at the New Frontier of Power'. Highly recommend.

Finally, anyone in this day and age who isn't at least concerned that Twitter and Musk both are likely CIA ops isn't thinking critically enough.

I bet that last line sounds better in German. (I left before I learned words like that.)
