Banging article. Good news imo. We are sooooo back!
Its the beginning of the end of the beginning. They have already lost. They just don't know it yet. Expect Peak Crazy in the following few months. And then it will implode.
"Against stupidity the very gods themselves contend in vain."

Don't even try to understand it. Wait until this tsunami, that started out as a small concentric circle, hits the shore in a wall of terror to the state.
The People in Germany need to push as hard as they can RIGHT NOW.
It's happening over here, no reason it can't over there.
My wife and I were driving by the Rhine river along the Swiss - German border and some dude kept yelling "Einbahnstraße". We thought he was crazy until we realized we'd been driving the wrong direction on a one way street for 3 miles.
In fairness we were a bit distracted cracking up that exit in German is Ausfahrt!...:)
My father in law, a long long time ago - driving with his son in Germany along the Autobahn - remarked: “Ausfahrt”, that must be a really big city! …:-)
While on holiday in Germany my Spanish friends and I decided to walk up a hill wearing shorts, T shirts and sandals. On the way up an outraged German man wearing full mountaineering gear and aided with walking poles scolded us for being so wreckless as to walk up a hill so ill-provisioned. I'm guessing he probably had a kilo of pemmican in his rucksack, just in case. I didn't know whether to laugh out loud or tell him to mind his own business. In the end I did neither and just gawped liked a fish.
Reminds me of when I was visiting friends in a smallish town in Germany in the 1980s, an American co-worker who was married to a German. She laughingly told me about being at a deserted intersection after midnight, no cars in sight anywhere, but a red light at the crosswalk for the direction she was going. As probably most if not all Americans would do in that situation, she ignored the red light and crossed the street anyway since it was safe. But a pair of Germans who also walked up to the intersection waited until the crosswalk light turned green before they would walk across!
I know this isn't Germany proper, but an old lady in Switzerland yelled and shook her umbrella at me for crossing on the red on a deserted street. That was 50 years ago ...
I tried crossing a road once on a lonely road in an empty Alpine valley in Switzerland. A BIKER GANG gave me the side eye and indicated in their unintelligible idiom and with much waving of the hands where the next official crossing was.
Yeah I hear what you're saying, but maybe the "hostile" takeover of the US government by The People could be inspiration for sane Germans to assert their will?
Even harde to understand is the difference in personality that leads to those structures.
I think even in the USA there a big differences in the people who live in different places, e.g. Alaskans compared to New Yorkers, compared to Texans.
The differences between Americans and Germans are much bigger, even though we are kind of the same people.
It is probably impossible to really understand another culture, but one can see how they behaved differently in certain circumstances, and extrapolate from there.
E.g. communism and fascism were very tempting for both the Americans and Europeans 100 years ago, but we Europeans were very much more prone to go for it all the way to the bitter end, while these types of totalitarism was impossible in the USA.
Great connection. But not just vaccines. The whole point of the military-intelligence Covid operation was to use fear manipulation so one would surrender logic, reason, and curiosity. Many folks now set on path to self-destruction. Major inflection point this month for Germans.
Don’t discount the deaths in WW2, 7,000,000 in the war and 2,000,000 after in 1945-1949. And the lesson learned from an occupation army willing to starve a civilian population: Obey, conform, please the powerful, or die.
We don’t need different people running our govenrment systems. We need new systems that we build ourselves that we use to hold government accountable to corruption.
I swear. Why is Europe awash in sissified Beta males?
16th-19th Century: The brave and adventurous left for the New Worlds (not just here but other colonies) leaving less testicularly fortituded Euromen behind.
20th Century: The two World Wars wiped out almost an entire generation of French (no great loss, they're all betas...) Germans and British twice within 30-40 yrs. Men who survived 1919 had kids who wound up fighting in 1939...
Those too weak to fight stayed behind, survived and jumped the widows of the fallen in their (the widow's) weaker times.
So ... almost Nobody left with any testosterone.... this is why Euro men are all like Macron
Also we are a very old society now, whose main goals is to provide a comfortable and long retirement for the pensioners (who are now the largest voting block).
Looking back on my education it seems to me the main thing to learn is that if we are safe all our lives if we work diligently in our jobs without expecting any riches. We live for comfort and security.
Much of the USA personality is alien to us. E.g. the constant hustle, the adoration of material success. Our last innovative successful company is from the 70ies: SAP.
Our main industry (cars, chemicals) are very old-fashioned, just a continuos tinkering on the great innovations we had a more than a century ago.
Even worse, the last series of social studies school books in Bavaria start with "demographic change", telling fresh-faced 16-year-olds how shitty their demographic situation is. I don't know anything that would be less encouraging at the start of the school year: "Here you are, sweetie, full of the zest of life, now let us tell you that you'll spend most of your adult life pushing FOUR PENSIONERS IN WHEELCHAIRS UP A HILL! FOUR! And here's a cartoon to show you that again! And here, read this article from SPIEGEL which ALSO tells you that you're in for it! And here, look, a statistic of the same thing! Bye, enjoy your afternoon!"
"One of the serious problems in planning against American doctrine is that the Americans do not read their manuals nor do they feel any obligation to follow their doctrine." - Apocryphal - but you just know it's a quote from a German officer.
Yes, but don't forget that the Prussian and then German army for a time was the most effective army in the world.
Fervent active obedience can be a devastating force.
But these days are over. We are no soldiers anymore. Nor do we really follow We just go along. The main thing is that we don't disagree with anything the governments tells us it is doing to us.
The German army had a lot more going for it than obedience. Preparation, training, tactics, and skill were more valued than obedience. Its soldiers were organized into units, both large and small, from the same towns, cities, and locales. Those men were more loyal to each other than they ever could be to any cause. Its leaders were also loyal to the soldiers - they made great efforts to insure the guys on the sharp end always had a way out. Those soldiers, in turn, fought with confidence until the very end.
I think they suspect it (one of the climate hysterics is complaining bitterly that "the climate" no longer played a role in the debates), but hope it's not true.
They've hystericked themselves into a mindset where they are forever the Anti-Nazi resistance ca. January 1933. They can't step back, breathe deeply and say "Oh well, another day we'll win again..." - no, it's all The Final Ragnarokkian Fight Against Evil etc.
Like you, I suspect they'll ratchet up the craziness and hysterics in the weeks and months to come. Let's see how it all ends.
And this Narrheit is what the United States has spent 75 years and untold billions keeping the Russians from pouring through the Fulda Gap for?
German’s current political and economic self-suicide is as bad as (worse than) the Polish Librium Veto which enabled the partitions of Poland in the 18th century…and may yet end up with Germany turned into the sort of agrarian post-industrial rump that the Morgenthau Plan envisaged…Pogo, we have met the enemy and he is us!
"What is happening in Germany right now is crazy. Our entire political system appears to be melting down. I have never seen anything like this, it almost defies explanation."
No it doesn't.
You push an entire nation far enough--when the nation, as here, is made up of people with extremely opposite ideas of what is normal, right, correct and possible--there will be a political earthquake.
Lots of nutsy people have been devoted supporters of Orange Not Jesus from the start. That's one reason it was so easy in 2020 for so many people to be the tipping point to get Joe Biden elected.
But then everything was done in every possible way to destroy Orange Not Jesus and even people like me became enough of a multitude to get him not only reelected but actually in power.
Your system is different as you have very well explained and illustrated in all of your political posts so it will take a bit longer for that volcanic eruption of disgust and reality married to result in the lava flow that will scorch its way through to a clear path.
Find some non-flammable high ground and wait. It's coming.
Cannot push aside that 2020 was ridiculously "fortified." Roughly 15 million extra votes that were never seen before or after and a margin of a few thousands.
You could not possibly convince me that the 11 million strong Respectable Anti-Orange Man Corps were asleep in 2016, rose up massively in 2020, then somehow went AWOL again in 2024.
I was in an uber in pittsburgh yesterday and the nice lady driver expressed sorrow when she heard I was from canada over the way Trump is coming at us, for which I thanked her.
Then she launched into how Trump is Hitler and immigrants are the “other” instead of Jews and how he fails to accept he lost fairly in 2020 etc
I believe that in the heart of every human there is an understanding of the right, fairness, normalcy, in short, reality. For very understandable reasons Germany is not living in a state of normalcy presently. The current condition is entirely unreal, and therefore unsustainable. Eventually reality will return and I can't see that inevitability arriving calmly. But the massive crowd at the top of this article shows the delusion is still immense. I suspect that even when the turn comes the mistaken will persist in their opposition to reality. Deviance is also a perverted part of reality.
That really is the crime in all of these theatrics. They are solely focused on themselves and their sacred cows with absolutely zero consideration of what an ever growing majority of actual citizens actually want. That aspect is not even considered by these power mad mongrels.
What will it take for these representatives (NOT leaders) to understand that not all cultures are equal, that importing 7th-century mindsets will produce 7th-century crime, and worse.
When German women must abide ridiculous levels of sexual assault - and worse - what will it take to admit that this policy course was wrong?
How can it be that so many are afraid to admit what surely the majority know to be fact?
How can so many be more worried about “feelings” than protecting their fellow citizens?
There are some mistakes that are too enormous to acknowledge, both for their stupidity and destructiveness and also because the more sacred these beliefs have become, the more difficult they are to relinquish. (Not to mention that believing in open borders/fungible humanity has been the price to enter elite Western liberal govt for this entire century.)
Agreed. Also the sunk cost of having spent the past decade terrified of the “right wing boogeyman” and pouring considerable emotional and financial resources into this, cutting off friends and family, only to realize you were the baddie all along. Much like many parents who transed their kids, they will go to their graves before admitting they fought to abuse and mutilate their kid. I fear left wing violence is next a la Manson and the Weather Underground.
I managed to go this far without losing family members due to political differences but three cut me off over the last week. No discussion. Said they couldn’t support a.. well you can imagine what I was called. It’s heart breaking. And frightening…. While I certainly have many family members left who can agree to disagree, including myself, this psyop broke brains. It broke people, some permanently.
I’m caught between being so excited about the US historic advances that are happening in breaking the deep state but also have much anxiety for the sizable minority who think this is literally a hostile takeover and will act accordingly.
All the screaming about USAID…it’s seems to my pea brain that much of the funds must’ve been for deep state ops like the Pakistan “vaccination program” used to collect DNA.
Not that that wasn’t a great plan to get Bin Laden. Just bad info got out.
But I do wonder how many left-wing boondoggles were funded. We know about too many, already. Let alone the censorship at Social Media companies that are finally being discussed.
When I heard about the USAID announcement, I thought to myself, "That's fantastic!" That place is definitely a waste of money in many respects. USAID and the NGO-complex are dumping grounds for money-laundering, and the peddling of all kinds of interventionist machinations that become vicious cycles of dependency. I first heard about this problem in the mid 2000s at the place where I worked.
Isn't it interesting how when the left wins the highest office in the land, while there may be a protest or two, I know of no conservatives who cut family ties as a result. Maybe I just haven't seen it. Happy to be proven wrong here.
But when Trump wins the presidency, both lefties and so-called never-Trump conservatives are seemingly proud to say they cut ties with family.
I don’t have the citations handy, but I’ve seen studies that confirm that progressives are far more likely to cut ties with friends and family than conservatives. And that’s certainly been my observation.
I’ve been wondering when the violence would show up. Targeted violence, I mean. Not random protest violence. Trump has taken their candy away. Tantrums are sure to follow.
Jen, you hit the proverbial nail on its head…and remind us of another saying, “When all one has is a hammer, everything looks like a nail.”
I have been left agape at the numerous times I’ve read about U.K. leftists in the police & prosecutions line of work whose work ethic turns to slacker when it comes to consequences for RAPING little girls IF perpetrators happened to be Pakistani.
My gob was smacked too many times, and my flabbers were completely and utterly gasted many times when reading excuses that prosecutions were best left undone because doing so would
a) give right-wingers a win
b) embolden those calling for controlled immigration
c) unleash so many unknown secondary and tertiary threats that it is best to ignore this altogether
As someone in law enforcement for many decades, I cannot tell you the number of times I’ve screamed to myself: You are COPS. They were LITTLE GIRLS. They were RAPED!
People become cops for a wide variety of reasons; some altruistic, others less so.
But on any multiple-choice test given to any prospective cadet, I am positive, if applicants were given instructions to rank statements in order of importance, one stating, “Child rapists should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law” better be #1, or at least #2 if a question about murder was on the table. And none had the caveat, “Unless they’re Pakistani…”
As a matter of fact, when I was Director of our academy, I used something similar to screen applicants. That’s necessary when an org has dozens or more applying for each position.
These cases are so important that most large departments have a Child Crisis, Child SVU, or similarly named unit with specially trained detectives, civilians, nurses, a prosecutors all officing in a location remote from PD HQ.
The concept of policing decisions being made for political consideration is entirely foreign to most U.S. cops.
However, there are many American jurisdictions where left-wing prosecutors (usually funded by Soros, sadly) make well-known decisions to rarely prosecute people of certain ethnicities, so in that sense maybe we’re not so different.
But I’ve never seen a locale such as Britain where the cops not only fail to pursue child predators…but then arrest and have imprisoned those who happen to notice and remark upon the travesty. Now THAT is setting a new low.
I only pray that the fresh eyes and attention on this issue will maintain enough pressure to truly make a difference.
In the U.K., can crime victims pursue civil cases for monetary compensation from their attackers? That would be a powerful tool to bankrupt those engaging in such vile behavior.
I know this is long and I’ll wrap it up. In Germany we’re seeing the exact same thing, except not child-focused, if I’m correct.
How people can possibly even think of worrying about how the “right-wing” might react in simply anathema to ethical
people.
How could any other fact besides child rape matter in the least?
I'm thinking no. 5, CDU minority with tacit support from the AfD is the most likely, simply due to that that's what's happened up here:
Before the '22 election, the Christian Democrats, the Liberals and the Moderates were all virtually forced (by truly rabid media) to take a vow not to let the Sweden Democrats into a coalition.
Which is what happened: no formal participation for SD, no minister posts, but in reality the coalition can only get things done by throwing the SD a bone now and then.
Meanwhile, all parties save the Greens and the Communists are re-aligning in the direction of the Sweden Democrats, in their rhetoric on migration. In action, not so much. In admitting what an unmitigated incomparable disaster it has been, nothing at all. The problems are all spoken of in the passive voice of an HR-Karen, as if they were natural occurrences, or in an accusatory tone blaming the inability of a Somali goatherd to find a high-paying job on institutional racism.
I think you'll see a CDU + AfD as passive partner, with the other parties shedding members to the left and right depending on how they realign.
eugyppius, I want to make sure you are aware of the dossier Debbie Lerman and Sasha Latypova compiled documenting evidence that COVID was a globally coordinated military and intelligence operation:
You will find a timeline of legal maneuvers and key individuals and entities involved in the orchestration broken down by country, including a section for Germany.
Since today, February 4, is the five-year anniversary of the EUA and PREP Act declarations, Sasha and Debbie are asking that as many people share this dossier as possible to amplify its reach and raise awareness that COVID was not a public health campaign but a military psyop.
I’ve followed Eugyppius since the early COVID days, and respect him immensely. But his unwillingness to see the planned and coordinated action around COVID 19 release and vaccinations is somewhat frustrating. Just as he criticizes the German sheep for mindless obedience, he himself cannot consider the evidence behind the COVID planned epidemic. Eugyppiuius, check Substack Jessica Rose, Arkmedic, JikkyLeaks, etc. the evidence is in the DNA genomes, and is irrefutable.
Madness it is - utter madness, something which one look at aghast from far away, like a car crash in slow motion which nothing can prevent any longer. How else can one describe it when the original Left party, the SDP, now declares itself to be 'the middle'!
There's one other point: what will Merz do should he be elected with the votes from the AfD? Reject it? What would, Habeck or Scholz do in case of that plurality vote, and the AfD votes for them? Reject that vote? Demand 'new elections', or forbid the AfD to vote even?
Wasn't there a news snippet the other day, that in Thuringia, the governing CDU and BSW voted for an AfD proposal? Did the skies burst?
And remember: these 'demos' of the 'anständige Germans' are orchestrated by government-paid NGOs, with government party members participating. What do you call it when the government orchestrates demos against its own population? Propaganda and coercion, that's what!
Situations like this are often resolved through change in party leadership. I reckon all of the parties involved have second-tier figures who now wisely are keeping their mouths shut.
In effect all politicians (bar the AfD) are indicting each other as unfit to govern. I’m sure the German public completely agree. So isn’t another outcome the bankruptcy and ejection of the political class as a whole? Perhaps their replacement with non-elite, non-regime people from the genuine, long-suppressed grass roots?
I expect the AFD to gain above 20% and the CDU below 30%, with the SPD and Greens somewhere between the two if you combine their votes. Merz, the SPD, and the Greens will find common ground in their hatred of the peasants (and the AFD) and will form the Kenya coalition. They’ll rather walk back their promises than cease power. Nothing to see here, business as usual.
We don't have a TV but who needs it when there is so much high drama and cliff-hangers in each post by Eugyppius about the multi-dimensional world of German politics! I seriously look forward to every post now to see which politician is doing/saying what. I would feel the pain of these grand political players, except I have no sympathy, for some reason.
I only have sympathy for the citizenry of Germany, UK, and other countries, where they are simply cannon fodder for the power plays of the so-called elite.
There does seem to be no awareness of the people they are supposed to serve, which is why the people need to vote with their brain and send a clear message.
Crazy conspiracy theory of the day. Is it a coincidence that Germany's politicians all forget how to get along now that USAID is disrupted by DOGE and Trump? Maybe the politicians were all being rewarded to go along with each other and push the destructive anti-German policies they have been following for years. There is certainly no rational (pro Germany) reason why German politicians and policies have been what they have been for the past decade or more.
What is deeply sad about all of this, is that none of the parties appear to be considering the German citizens in their calculations. Of course I note this on the far side of an American election that was understood to be in the bag for the Dems. Yet tens of millions of my fellows were able to coalesce and get Trump back in the White House. So perhaps... Perhaps the AfD will go metaphorical horse head in the bed and cobble a similar deal to finally support their citizens.
Have you seen this curious "prediction" by Justus Bender from his 2017 book, "Was will die AfD?" (EN: What does AfD want?) It was mentioned on Marcus Lanz show 31.01.2025 https://x.com/oida_grantler/status/1885477550723371070
* Olaf Scholz will form a government in 2021 that is unpopular but will last until 2025.
* After a terrorist attack, the AfD gains 28%.
* An all-party grand coalition fails and in 2026 there will be the first AfD chancellor.
'In fact, it is worse than that. All parties, save for the AfD, are presently doing everything in their power to exclude all possible post-election paths to a government.'
It's time for everybody to refresh their memory on the story of Henny Penny (Chicken Little in the U.S.). In every version, those who panicked end up being eaten by a fox.

Americans tend to under estimate the conformism and sheer sheepishness inherent in the majority of German people.
There is a theory that all the individualism we once had went either to the USA in the 18/19 century, or died in the world war, especially the first.
By and large, we are the descendant of obedient men.
Much of what happened since WW1 can be explained by that.
I once made the mistake of jaywalking in Berlin on a mostly empty road late at night...the dirty looks I got from everyone on the curb!
I'd never felt so American!
For Germans, rules are made to be worshipped.
My wife and I were driving by the Rhine river along the Swiss - German border and some dude kept yelling "Einbahnstraße". We thought he was crazy until we realized we'd been driving the wrong direction on a one way street for 3 miles.

seen same many times there
Wow, that kind compliance (completely needless) is scary. I don't at all think it's good for the soul either.
Germans may wish they had a functional government to cope with President Trump’s agenda and Russia’s victory in the proxy war.
I did same in Berlin last April
Then I walked back again just for effect.
This attitude explains a lot of what is really wrong with Germans, the blind deference
There is a lesson there.
Socialism, even the Germans can't make it work.
yeah, im all for rules and laws and order, but anything can be pushed too far, esp obedience
I tried crossing a road once on a lonely road in an empty Alpine valley in Switzerland. A BIKER GANG gave me the side eye and indicated in their unintelligible idiom and with much waving of the hands where the next official crossing was.
A BIKER GANG.
lolol
sounds like a scene from Pee Wee's Big Adventure
That sounds pretty based; respect for rules is respect for society.
The issue is when the people making the rules are evil which is presently the case in Germany.
The real problem is recognizing the difference between good and evil rules.
Yeah I hear what you're saying, but maybe the "hostile" takeover of the US government by The People could be inspiration for sane Germans to assert their will?
We shall see....
The German system makes this much harder than in the US.
There always have to be coalitions, run by lifelong political bureaucrats.
And the chancellor doesn't have that much power . The power lies in the bureaucracy.
Our system is very adverse to sudden changes. It moves slowly but durely in one direction, like a big tanker.
Which is good if it works and goes in the right direction, but catastrophically if it goes in the wrong direction.
Thx Andreas for the explanation. Government structure in EU countries is still something hard for us Americans to fully understand.
But I'm starting to learn!
Even harde to understand is the difference in personality that leads to those structures.
I think even in the USA there a big differences in the people who live in different places, e.g. Alaskans compared to New Yorkers, compared to Texans.

Don't say impossible. It was way too close for comfort for the last four years.
Add to this the zombie affect of the recent vaccines,
Great connection. But not just vaccines. The whole point of the military-intelligence Covid operation was to use fear manipulation so one would surrender logic, reason, and curiosity. Many folks now set on path to self-destruction. Major inflection point this month for Germans.
Good point. Often gets overlooked, now.
Don’t discount the deaths in WW2, 7,000,000 in the war and 2,000,000 after in 1945-1949. And the lesson learned from an occupation army willing to starve a civilian population: Obey, conform, please the powerful, or die.
Two total defeats in just over a generation will do that to you. Then one part of the country was under the yoke until thirty years ago.
Too many people underestimate the damage that wars have on generations of men.
We don’t need different people running our govenrment systems. We need new systems that we build ourselves that we use to hold government accountable to corruption.

Guess?

...
Exactly.
Zuwanderung ist das Zauberwort. (Oder ein Zauberwort.)
"One of the serious problems in planning against American doctrine is that the Americans do not read their manuals nor do they feel any obligation to follow their doctrine." - Apocryphal - but you just know it's a quote from a German officer.

High IQ paired with obedience is almost invincible.
Germany worked since the 1700s on a culture of a strong military, starting with Friedrich Wilhelm I ( "Soldier King")
Our modern school system comes from Prussia, where it was created to have smart people willing to take orders.
And also the strong, religious faith in Germany as a people and culture was developed philosophically, most strongest by Hegel.
Prussia has been called the modern Sparta.
This allowed the German army to walk into the meatgrinder of WW1. These traditions still present in the Wehrmacht in WW2.
But now they are totally gone, both in the German army (hard to call it an army at all), and the German culture.
To some degree, they have. Else: why is AfD where it is?
I expect the lemmings at the back of the pack were saying…let’s slow down; that might be a cliff.
Surely you are at least somewhat correct.
But people can change some. Will they now?
Narrheit Zeitgeist!
I love German. Just build words like Lego…
Agree. Well said
Well, you said the same thing. But I never read other comments until I've posted mine.
I smiled and thanked her again
Just wanted to get to the hockey game

Most people I know voted for him never. I have now voted for him once and I am legion enough it seems.
All dogmas demand that the individual ignore his instincts and believe in lies.
All this sturm und drang to prevent partnering with people with whom many Germans appear to agree!
That really is the crime in all of these theatrics. They are solely focused on themselves and their sacred cows with absolutely zero consideration of what an ever growing majority of actual citizens actually want. That aspect is not even considered by these power mad mongrels.
Boy. So much truth in just three sentences!
They will never ever admit their mistakes.
God bless Germany and God bless America.
Much worse.
RFKJ discusses with Tucker the involvement of CIA front USAID in the replacement of Ukraine's very first democratically-elected government.
https://twitter.com/ShadowofEzra/status/1886153128757629157
When I heard about the USAID announcement, I thought to myself, "That's fantastic!" That place is definitely a waste of money in many respects. USAID and the NGO-complex are dumping grounds for money-laundering, and the peddling of all kinds of interventionist machinations that become vicious cycles of dependency. I first heard about this problem in the mid 2000s at the place where I worked.
The amount of theft is truly staggering!
Notable also, in Western countries, conservative people are never the shrill, violent ones, constantly forcing their opinions onto everyone else.
I don’t have the citations handy, but I’ve seen studies that confirm that progressives are far more likely to cut ties with friends and family than conservatives. And that’s certainly been my observation.
"I fear left wing violence is next a la Manson and the Weather Underground."
yup, this is the next scene in our 60s/70s reboot. utopianism denied and unrealized (as it always is) usually curdles into nihilistic violence.
they will punish us for rejecting their benevolent messianism.
I’ve been wondering when the violence would show up. Targeted violence, I mean. Not random protest violence. Trump has taken their candy away. Tantrums are sure to follow.
"but three cut me off over the last week"
I console myself that the best revenge is living well.
There have been few policies as destructive to Western states as this.
Of course it’s wrong to generalize and pretend ALL of a certain population are bad people.
But it’s just as wrong to do the opposite, that NONE are bad.
So many locales have transformed from high-trust homogeneous to very low-trust places that few would choose to raise their families.
And on cherry on top, government refusing to seriously prosecute those who victimize others.
For years I hoped I’d get a chance to visit Great Britain and Germany. But those two are now low on my wishlist.
So true, I wish I could Like it a bunch of times.
The selfishness and self preservation seems to be the motivating force.
So much for Democracy!
Democracy is at its finest when it gets really messy.
I kind of hope this is the solution too and we are witnessing a Merkel putsch from the CDU (she never belonged there anyway).
'Olaf Scholz, today appeared on a podcast and called Merz “der Führer.”'
Wait, surely that's against German law*? The Constitutional Protection agency should arrest him immediately 😬
* because everything else is.
it's definitely legally actionable
I was mostly kidding, but still not surprised.
Any chance all this chaos brings more support to AFD?
right now it looks like it may be dragging CDU down a point or two, AfD holding steady, maybe gaining very slightly.
“Our entire political system appears to be melting down.”
Can’t help but think of Yeats:
“The Second Coming”
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.
Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

eugyppius, I want to make sure you are aware of the dossier Debbie Lerman and Sasha Latypova compiled documenting evidence that COVID was a globally coordinated military and intelligence operation:
• “The COVID Dossier”: https://margaretannaalice.substack.com/p/the-covid-dossier
Go.,Yeats! Thank you.
Hmm...not really a very challenging recommendation. Search out instead the work of Dr Jonathan J Couey or Dr Mike Yeadon.
Absolutely.
When you rally against the powerful governing, it is a protest.
When you rally against the opposition, -no matter which one-, it is intimidation.
"when the original Left party, the SDP, now declares itself to be 'the middle'!"
Nothing more than the totally predictable leftist strategy of hauling the Overton Window behind them.
Nothing to see here, business as usual.
... das wird wohl leider so eintreffen. Klarer Blick, gratuliere!
Your comment appears to have been overlooked.
If anyone thinks that politicians have any real power, they have no concept of the reality of how the world functions.
This tells you all you need to know:

Yes, even the orange man.
@eugypius
Justus Bender (that is an hilarious nom-de-plume) was incredibly prescient.
The "most affluent, most credentialled, most entitled" have failed at LIFE.
There's even a chart! https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Henny_Penny
