Well put indeed! The EU again illustrates it's own irrelevance on the international scene. Since they wield negligible global power, other nations should not accept their bureaucratic caprice either and just flat out reject and/or retaliate against DSA, DMA, CSRD, CSDDD and CBAM. The US needs to take the lead.
They get the soap in their eyes, and when it stings, only then do they think to read the instructions. Which of course they can't because they have soap in their eyes.
No idea how the Iran strike will pan out... but it is insane to me that now that Trump is calling the shots instead of the Washington Blob, the American military is suddenly a terrifying force to be reckoned with instead of a messy, incompetent bull in a china shop. A billionaire real estate playboy is somehow more effective in foreign policy than the smartest people in the room with decades of experience.
Experience at never having done anything real or substantive in their entire lives except maintaining the imaginary “rules based order”, which boils down to bowing and scraping and bending the knee to all the worst people in the world.
Exactly. The Iranian nuisance got started by clueless, unlamented Jimmuh Cahtah, and remained unresolved through half a dozen presidencies, the worst of whom was Obama who sent them pallets of cash.
I expect this may because US mission shock troops no longer need include a requisite quota of pregnant women, Afghan furniture-movers, dog-masked luggage thieves, and transsexual admirals.
Trumpstein calling the shots in Washington? What have been smoking?
Even Jeffrey Sacks has said out loud that it's Netanyahu and the Zionist lobby who call the shots in US foreign policy, and MAGA itself has morphed into MIGA.
Thank God then, because the Theocracy of Iran once it had a nuke, would have had some Cleric with a direct line to God nuking Israel and the great Satan US.
Despite what Western media have been spoon-feeding us for decades, the Iranians (people and regime) are not foaming-at-the mouth desert Arabs, but Persians who take pride in thousands of years as a high civilization with a fully recorded history.
Shia Islam is very different in FEEL and substance to Saudi-sponsored Wahhabism.
Those Iranians were murdered in their thousands according to recent reports simply for protesting, and NOT because their leaders are the caretakers of thousands of years of high civilisation, BUT because their leaders are Religious fanatics who want the end of the World so that their Messiah will return. Fortunately it seems Israel and now Trump have decided that the end of the Ayatollahs, tough as it will be, is better than the end of the World courtesy of Iranian Ayatollahs nukes.
QUOTE: ... Iranians were murdered in their thousands ... simply for protesting, ...
NO. Nothing about the "protests" was organic, it was a giant, U.S.-financed astroturf operation, carefully designed to MAXIMIZE CASUALTIES.
The U.S. had spent years and billions of dollars in bribes to organize "astroturf" protests in Iran. The Signal social media platform was used extensively, and thousands of Starlink terminals were smuggled into the country to pre-empt an Internet shut-down.
Given what we know about a previous instalment of this series, Victoria Nuland's 2014 "Maidan" protests, we can be certain that foreign or foreign-financed SNIPERS MURDERED both "protesters" and security forces to maximize casualties and resulting political fall-out.
The whole DRAMA was then further inflated through a carefully prepared set of LIES (aka propaganda) to massively exaggerate casualty figures and popular reaction.
BTW Maidan is a Persian word, meaning something like market square.
One minor problem, I have had family visiting Iran and working with Iranians for many years. Training their workers - no more than 10 in a room, and always an Imam sat at the back to check. When training more than 10, the the numbers swapped every so often AND best of all, punishment IF one (the relative) even smiled at the female interpreter, A lesson rapidly learnt as there was no running to the embassy for protection from the Imam's displeasure.
BUT secretly, after work the trainees would get messages out and secret meals were arranged. Women would arrive with husbands but robed in their black tubes then discard them to display beautiful western clothes, make up and hairstyles. Iranians in general HATE the Ayatollahs and your fantasy myths about it all being a US set up are simply a feature of you ideology.
Ukraine's Maidan square was the equivalent of the Ayatollahs taking over, but in that case the US supported them. Said relative also trained people in Russia, not sure about Ukraine, the only thing I remember being told about Russia was the alleged state of the roads
Well said. I am dying laughing at all the people in my life who are in shock about the actions that bad orange hair man. They want to be keep being mad at him but they are running out their reasons to do that. He keeps proving them wrong.
Well there are other popular destinations. Hotel Canada run by Fake Lord Carney, for example. Or Auuuuuuuuuuustraaaaaaaaliaaaaaaaaaaa, run by the intellect known as 'Albo'.
Hey we had a Sengelese naturalized courtesy of Hussein Obama kill 2 and wound 9 others overnight in Austin. Our invaders don’t use knives. They use real weapons.
She has talked to all of the leaders except the two that are trying to save the world - Israel and the US. Saving the world might be a stretch but protecting their countries from Armageddon is important to them. That’s why they lead. Because we know they can.
They sure do have their dangerous moments, but Iran has been fighting Israel and the world since 1979. Iran is not trying to create nuclear weapons. They can buy some off the shelf from North Korea and upgrade them it they simply want nuclear weapons. What they want is the demonstrated capability to build one.
In fact, the Ayatollah issued a fatwa excluding Iran from building a nuclear weapon which he considers to be evil. You know, the Ayatollah that they the U.S. and Israel just killed.
It's not about nuclear weapons and you know that. Or at least you should because both America and Israel say it is about dismembering Iran and replacing it with something to their liking.
Nobody but nobody says that Iran has nuclear weapons (except for keyboard warriors)
As I mentioned in my post, Trump, Vance, Hegseth, European leaders all say it is about reforming Iranian society and turning it into a subjugated state.
They are demonstrating what leadership is. If they would do nothing, nothing would change and the planet would be more dangerous for everyone. The real explanation of this is the idea that other Muslim nations are also pouring on the fire against Iran. They were as uncomfortable as we are with the behavior of such an evil administration that Iran has exhibited for the last 47 years.
This started on October 7th - Iran and its proxies set the planet afire. They sowed the wind, Trump and Israel have to ensure they Ayatollah's and the Theocracy reap the whirlwind and Iranians get to overthrow them.
lmao. It has nothing to do with Iran. It's all about the Orange Cheetah Nazi. i did hear, just now, that Iran's navy has been downgraded to paddle boards tho
The hypocrisy is breathtaking. Obama deported 4 million illegals. He bombed seven countries without congressional approval. Where was the outrage then? Barack Obama executed 500 drone strikes, which killed civilians. Americans were also killed. Americans were on Obama’s kill list, also known as the ‘Disposition Matrix.’ So, please, EU retards spare us these lectures about the legality of the strikes.
If anyone thinks this is just about Iran they are naive. This is mainly about oil, specifically cutting off China's access to Iranian oil.
- Trumps actions in Venezuela was deeply connected to oil - both geopolitically and economically
- The humanitarian and energy crisis in Cuba is directly tied to the loss of Venezuelan oil
There's a connection to oil....but it's a complex one that mixes energy geopolitics with security and regional dynamics.
Personally, even though I'm a libertarian, and adamantly opposed to war, I still find the world a safer place today.
Well, I made an ass out of myself in the comments... somewhere (maybe here?) as regards to Venezuela, so, ideally I'll manage to avoid that this time.
It's hard to imagine the world being a significantly worse place with the Theocracy of Iran gone. Now, whether we'll actually achieve that is still up in the air, even if we got the top couple guys. On the flip side, I do also recall that we ended *up* with the Theocracy of Iran because they overthrew the guy we put in place after *we* overthrew Mossadegh. So hopefully there are no repeat "unintended consequences" for this one.
There’s absolutely the wrinkle here that the 60% enriched Uranium Iran had means 95% of the work to get to weapons grade is done.
It means you need 5% of the effort to go to 90%, which means 5% of the machines, centrifuges, electrical power signature and a much easier to hide facility.
A small warehouse size target instead of a very large complex.
The last part of making the bomb even smaller.
So that is a real angle, they couldn’t be allowed to finish.
OK, perhaps "made an ass" is excessive. I concur it has to do with oil. And, as much as it throws sand in my libertarian gears, it's probably even justifiable.
This is my whole "physics versus engineering" paradigm coming in again.
<<<<<This is mainly about oil, specifically cutting off China's access to Iranian oil.<<<<<
As we are posting this, China is loading Iranian oil from Iran's massive Kharg Island terminal. Those Chinese ships are the only ones transiting the Strait of Hormuz at the present moment. Iranian oil is moving unmolested and it is going to China.
Ad hominem attack. That's an intelligent and useful retort.
I would not presume to guess what Trump is thinking or planning. But nothing is more uncertain than war and its outcomes. Plenty of room for differing analyses and views. Unless, of course, you are pretty sure that Trump is god.
He’s sooo stupid. He understands nothing. And while it is true every thing he does he succeeds at, and his policies work, it is a fluke! Or it is him piggy backing on Biden’s geopolitical mastery. Right?
Great series Mike Hammer. So sad about the upper lip. But a great actor nonetheless so we named a very long war on Iran after him. Bobo , i mean Bibi wanted Mike Hammerstein , I said no , maybe next time.
But first the markets drops, all the puts that were initiated on Friday by his cronies sell, then they buy calls. Tomorrow is going to be a orgasmic money maker for many globalists, especially the Americans including senators and congresspeople.
You are simply wrong. Brent oil is up seven percent. Crude prices in Asia are up even more. Both the Dow and the S&P are down somewhat but are definitely not going up.
Iran is loading oil onto Chinese ships at this very moment but nothing else is moving out of the Gulf at the present time. India has announced that they are going to resume buying Russian oil without limitation.
In fairness Iran can’t make a deal now there’s no government, so meantime they’ll have no nuclear facilities, Navy, Missiles or Air Force to play with, if they insist on being tribal raiders very well, they can keep Toyota HILUXs and Machine guns like their neighbors they’re so romantic about… and the answer to Tribal Raiders (besides extinction) is always punitive raids.
I'll paraphrase what I said on SimComm's post--how I was just reminded how big the oceans are when recent news had mentioned it was going to take two weeks for a US ship (airplane carrier?) to reach its destination in the ME.
If you don't have an empire someone else will and if they control the shipping lanes your nation becomes their vassal, one way or another. If the US doesn't control the shipping lanes China will.
There's nothing new anywhere. Take all them crazy Shias and ultra-Orthodox Jews out of it. There was a Persian Empire trying to gobble up all its neighbors back when their rulers were Zoroastrians and there's never been peace in the Middle East no matter what cult is the current fashion, and having enough power to keep trade flowing through wherever the waters stream is the lifeblood of civilization.
I knew people whose lives were destroyed by the Shah and people whose lives have been badly harmed by the regime of the mullahs so I don't imagine any sort of happy modern secular future for Iran. The Kurds, the Azeris, the Balochis aren't going to have welcoming tears in their eyes for any iteration of a return of the King and the usual crazy communists there won't either.
But taking out the mullahs' money spigots will be pretty meaningful for the possibility of a business alliance between the various Arab kingdoms and Israel and that could certainly end up saving a lot of lives here, there and everywhere.
And--to all the oligarchs of the world who thought a place like Dubai could be their safe cozy playground--great thinking, guys. You didn't have enough money to buy yourselves some maps?
There are never enough non-crazy people in that part of the world and Iranian leaders have already moved tons of money abroad and they can keep making mischief indefinitely, and if they find the doors slammed on them in the Gulf now because they were stupid enough to fire drones at Fancy Commissioned Architecture they'll find expedient hosts in Moscow and Beijing.
But this had to be done anyway. Let's hope for the best.
Unfortunately the Middle East is actually the center of the world. We don't get to escape its craziness no matter what choices we make.
And--look. If we hadn't had all those lunatic sects sprouting from every grain of sand there, we wouldn't've eventually had Bach. Quite costly but still. Worth the price.
Something I've noticed here in the US is that even if there are reasons to oppose the operation in Iraq (I myself agree with it but I'm sure reasonable arguments could be made against it) there is no one in the democratic party who can articulate those reasons. The democrats have so besmirched themselves with their every day inane commentaries that nothing they say can have any credibility.
I think they've pretty much convincingly made their case that what Trump did is a violation of the same War Powers Act that both Obama and Biden also entirely ignored.
If the Democrat Party had been around on July 4, 1776, and the first signatory to the Declaration of Independence had been Donald J. Trump, they would have sworn unswerving fealty to King George III.
I suspect he will have the Ukrainian flag behind him as well.
Did anyone see the Eurotards wearing the blue and yellow poppy on their lapels last week?
Von der Lyin’ in Kiev making sure the press took photos, all smoke and mirrors. They are so focused on PR, they have no time to work on anything of substance.
Pantsuit Plague. Well put.
Might be his best since "VACCINATORS". I still laugh at that one 6 years later.
The pantsuit plague is easily diagnosed. They're the people who need instructions on shampoo bottles.
And don't follow them.
I wouldn't follow poopy pants either!
Aaah, Ursula. Did you know that she made a movie with Heiko? Not quite wearing a pantsuit in it, though.

Ha!
My favorite!
Well said good lad.
Darn, you stole my comment! 😂 (Pantsuit Plague)
Another example of why "A Plague Chronicle" is the best name ever. The possibilities are endless.
Pantsuit Plague anagrams to:
- pustulating ape
- Satan gut pileup
- anal pug putties
Seems to reinforce the phrase. :<)
It would be a good bad name!
At this rate, EU is going to advise its citizens to leave Venezuela any day now.
Nailed it!

Autopen is on the line for Biden...says he sent cash too.
I didn't know that. But I doubt Biden himself knew. The most he could be expected to have done in his presidency was to sort of sleepwalk through it.
complete puppet figurehead.
Jimmuh Catar , a great pakistani
Depends on the objectives. The blob has been very successful at increasing its size, reach, and bank accounts.
I expect this may because US mission shock troops no longer need include a requisite quota of pregnant women, Afghan furniture-movers, dog-masked luggage thieves, and transsexual admirals.
They have different decades of experience.
Trump's included the certainty that if he f*d up, there would be PERSONAL consequences to HIM.

Elaborate in what ways?
Europe??? Isn’t it just the place where the Muslims go to suck off of the state.
And rape women and children (and men also sometimes bc why not).
Someone has to speak up for the goats.
See el gato malo's meme pool today!
Unfortunately he has fallen to the stupifying effects of twitter and hasn't produced anything useful or amusing since COVID times.
Ohhhhh. Ohhhh noooo. Ohhhhh…I’ve definitely ruptured something…🤣
Darn beat me to it
Your Honor , I was only helping that goat over the fences !
lolol
You forgot the poor goats
Just for your kind info:

Well there are other popular destinations. Hotel Canada run by Fake Lord Carney, for example. Or Auuuuuuuuuuustraaaaaaaaliaaaaaaaaaaa, run by the intellect known as 'Albo'.
Aka Albo the arse wipe. He doesn’t care if its Trump , some genocidal jewish president always glad to oblige. Welcome to Cuntry.
I think there are quite a few across the 5 Eyes that could call themselves this.
The Resident Horse for example is still not quite out of NZ politics.
The Fake Lord of Canada is openly trading his private portfolio on Government time.
The activist lawyer Starmer is doing damage every single day.
As discussed, Albo and his 'special' thoughts.
It's not pretty. Not pretty at all.
Anthony Norman Albanese, his full name, will anagram to:

i saw that and not a word from any MSM outlets about his origins, Had to use the Independent sources to find out the truth anymore.
After they finish looting the USA in Minnesota,Maine ,NYC .
They would head to California only the Mexican Cartels are not to be messed with .
She has talked to all of the leaders except the two that are trying to save the world - Israel and the US. Saving the world might be a stretch but protecting their countries from Armageddon is important to them. That’s why they lead. Because we know they can.
I'm guessing she tried but had to leave voice-mails and they haven't bothered calling back.
My thoughts exactly
Israel and the US trying to save the world,by setting it on fire. Two of the biggest dangers to the planet.
You are delusional
They sure do have their dangerous moments, but Iran has been fighting Israel and the world since 1979. That revolution should have been enough payback for the US's 1953 replacement of a democratically-elected leader by the Shah; but Iran has been paying it back for the last 47 years and trying to create nuclear weapons, and the ordinary common sense you seem to lack knew Israel and the US were never going to accept that.
Chartertopia
Iran is not trying to create nuclear weapons. They can buy some off the shelf from North Korea and upgrade them it they simply want nuclear weapons. What they want is the demonstrated capability to build one.

And you trust the ayatollah but other politicians are liars because ...?
Hard to have a conversation with someone who ignores the fly in the soup (Iran's aggressive terrorism since 1979).
Nobody but nobody says that Iran has nuclear weapons (except for keyboard warriors)
As I mentioned in my post, Trump, Vance, Hegseth, European leaders all say it is about reforming Iranian society and turning it into a subjugated state.
As you didn’t mention in your post, Iran has been attacking the world for 47 years.
As you didn’t mention in your post, your faith in Iranian politicians but not Western ones undermines your credibility.
You assume N Korea have them for sale! You think China (they have Uighur Muslims) or Russia (Chechen Muslims) would allow N Korea to even consider it?
Iranians have had little say since the Ayatollah's took over. They have a direct line to God.
Moron
It’s like Iran’s Ring of Fire except it works.
They are demonstrating what leadership is. If they would do nothing, nothing would change and the planet would be more dangerous for everyone. Ass
We would all benefit by allowing the spread of Islam. That way we can get women to stop whining about abortion rights once and for all. 🙄
Would they be forced to stay indoors so I don’t have to be tormented ?
Exactly....
I understand the leader of Iran has also been uncharacteristically slow to return Ursula's call.
He probably has better things to do with the short time he has left on earth.
lmao. It has nothing to do with Iran. It's all about the Orange Cheetah Nazi. i did hear, just now, that Iran's navy has been downgraded to paddle boards tho

Personally, even though I'm a libertarian, and adamantly opposed to war, I still find the world a safer place today.
Oil? I've heard renewables and batteries can replace everything. Surely that can't be false.
ha! exactly.
The green scam never had anything to do with protecting earth.
It was so the elites could control all the energy in the world so they could determine whether you could bring life into this world.
Some people can only climb to the top by pushing everyone else down.
Remember, these are zero sum thinkers and intend to be on the plus side of the ledger.
There's a chance of it, if you can wait a hundred years or so.
A lot always depends upon who’s doing the overthrowing.
Take our own American Revolution for the prime example.
Not just Iran's theocracy, Hamas, Houthis, Hezbollah are all now deprived of a banker and arms dealer.
No, I get it. It's very, very probably going to turn out to be a net positive.
"Personally, even though I'm a libertarian, and adamantly opposed to war, I still find the world a safer place today."
Same here. Except for Mexico, and maybe what we see today is that finally getting shaken out, too.
"The hypocrisy is breathtaking... Where was the outrage then?"
Today's reeeeeee: "Three of our servicemen are dead!!1!"
My response: "So then, roughly a third of the servicemen Democrats killed just trying (and failing) to 'peacefully' get hostages back from Iran.
"Poor Democrats — always believing that 'we tried' is an acceptable substitute for “we did.”
“i did hear, just now, that Iran's navy has been downgraded to paddle boards tho”
lol! I also heard they now have a bunch of new submarines.
You just made me laugh with your last sentence. Good one!
All of this is connected …Venezuela was about world drug trade and open borders …Maduro had a chance to make a deal, kohemama had a chance…FAFO…
Yup, and don’t forget they were Iran’s drone builder of choice.
Good point

Ursula von der Leyen currently monitoring the Hun invasion of the Roman Empire.
lmao! good one
There was no hunnic invasion! They were just physicists and doctors seeking a better life.
Trump wants to wrap this all up before the markets open tomorrow, and before the Europeans even bother getting around to talking about it.
I wonder if he is really thinking in such deluded terms. It’s possible
Midnight Hammer went the same way.
That’s the problem: that he doesn’t get how different the situation is this time
I think it is hilarious that you and your little twinkie friends think you are smarter than Trump is.
Ad hominem attack. That's an intelligent and useful retort.
I would not presume to guess what Trump is thinking or planning. But nothing is more uncertain than war and its outcomes. Plenty of room for differing analyses and views. Unless, of course, you are pretty sure that Trump is god.
Nothing is also more certain than once Iran's Theocracy had a nuke, God would tell one of them to use it.
Trump is still listening to the very intelligence community that's been trying to sabotage him for a decade.
I wouldn't be so sure, but neither would I assume that I am smarter than he is. Hubris, dudes.
Or maybe he's listening to Benny's, who have too much of their own skin in the game to play stupid TDS politics,
Twinkie means a rather pretty male model in some parts of Europe....
I know. :)
He’s sooo stupid. He understands nothing. And while it is true every thing he does he succeeds at, and his policies work, it is a fluke! Or it is him piggy backing on Biden’s geopolitical mastery. Right?
I read on Vox that Trump has to hire illegals out of the Home Depot parking lot just to keep the autopen greased.
That went right over my head.
Awesome.
Agreed.
Great series Mike Hammer. So sad about the upper lip. But a great actor nonetheless so we named a very long war on Iran after him. Bobo , i mean Bibi wanted Mike Hammerstein , I said no , maybe next time.

Why do you think it's deluded to try to keep the stock exchanges stable?
🤣

How is the Nancy Pelosi index these days?
Is Paul Pelosi still making brilliantly successful investments with near 100 per cent success?
Alas the market in rent boys is tanking
Oh dear. Reduced economic activity. I wonder if hammer sales have also fallen dramatically?
The Dow over 5,000! 🚀

It's just his new strategy of using Democrat Rules against them.
When they begin yammering on Monday, he simply replies with, "That's old news, why can't you just let it go and Move On?!"
God, I hope so.
Crude oil futures already coming off their weekend highs, and S&P 500 futures are paring their losses.
He’s already said it’s going all week.
Sen Cotton says weeks.
When this war is over they should strike a medal of valor for all who were subjected to Ursula von der Leyen’s phone calls
She called them but did they pick up?
An elegant, mood-ring-encrusted intaglio of Paul Marcarelli, with the inscription, "CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?"
I think if Iran ends up inwardly focused and the funds to all the terrorists stop, that is enough positive for today.
I’ll take that win.
First step of a journey and all that
So it goes.
"I don't imagine any sort of happy modern secular future for Iran."
Me, neither.
The WSJ is hyperventilating about the chance now for a "more peaceful, more prosperous Middle East."
Well, two things:
1) I've been hearing that that is right around the corner my whole life, and yet it never gets here;
2) I live in North America, so how does anything that happens in the Middle East advance my ball?!!
They didn't want to invest in new maps before Mahmoud Ahmadinejad wiped Israel off them, as he had been promising for years.
Indeed.
Love this line:
“They are a pantsuit plague on the land and a profound embarrassment to Europeans.”
I will be monitoring Substack for your reports. As of Monday that is
The pantsuit plague is quite vast, and it produces a great wall of empty noise.
All those polyester thighs, rubbing together, endlessly.
Could be worse. Could be corduroy.
(H/T Totie Fields)
You mean, like crickets?
Hey, I was just admiring your Death Valley pictures, and here you are! Love it!.....and 'pantsuit plague' is beautiful......
When the Ds can define what a woman is, maybe I’ll start listening again.
They really don't have all that much time left before they entirely run out of viable illustrative examples.
Didn’t know crazy king George was jewish
What Trump should be doing is taking out demoncrapic leadership - they’re far more dangerous to this country than Iran by a long shot…
Cannot argue with that! 👍
Do spare a thought for Sir Starmer opining in front of two large union flags, the fence looking very uncomfortable about to splinter between his legs.
