I’m going to take issue with your making any comparison whatsoever between Eugyppius and Alex Berenson. Eugy casts the LONGEST POSSIBLE SHADOW over Alex, intellectually, spiritually, rhetorically, and creatively. While I appreciate Alex’s contributions from time to time, Eugyppius is a vastly more serious and diligent person.
Maybe brain dead. Was in a hair salon in Illinois today with a group of ladies aged 50-80 all enjoying the beautifying and the conversation. In walks a client in her 30s wearing a mask.
I immediately felt anger hostility and depression. I felt my ‘safe space’ (lol) was invaded.
I realized I am likely suffering some form of PTSD! Whenever I see someone in a mask at this point (I mean masks always grated on me but lo, these years later the wearing of them borders on ridiculous!) my blood pressure skyrockets because it only reminds me (as if I really ever forget) of the lies we were told and the horrendous fraud perpetuated on us.
I wondered if I punched the smug mask wearer if I could use PTSD as a defense.
No one is qualified to talk about American elections, but many do. There is not "an" election, but hundreds, all managed differently, each with their own unique inefficiencies and corruption. It's beginning to appear the outcome of this one will be a continued, even increased, gridlock. Gridlock means no progress, and due to inevitable entropy, no progress produces deterioration.
Yet for some reason the markets like it. I think we will have completed what began in 2020, and be in a better position when the elections are completed.
Inflation ticked down this morning, probably anticipating spending restraint in the new congress. I hope they're right. Now we'll find out if they can walk the talk.
"On the one hand, I’m not qualified to comment on the American mid-term elections, which is the thing everyone wants to talk about right now. "
Comment away. Pennsylvania just elected someone with an obvious Traumatic Brain Injury. If the US Donkeys are going to have Shadow Senators, I think we should hear from our allies, whom we may or may not freeze to death this winter.
It almost doesn't matter that Fetterman is brain damaged. All the democrats care about is winning. Once in office, regardless of what they say on the campaign trail, they all vote the way that the Party tells them to, like a bunch of lemmings. Hence, you get 100 percent of democrats supporting the Biden Regime's war on Russia.
I don't feel that I have to take part in the emotional outbursts that occur in Germany whenever the US has elections, but the fact that somebody who is obviously deeply unwell was elected shocked me quite a bit. I mean, what were voters THINKING? And couldn't his party find a replacement?
Absolutely lovely. Peter the Great (and other early Romanovs) were charmed by this German architecture and replicated it while building St Petersburg and places like Gatchina.
Are all those buildings connected? IAlso, I'm not certain I understand what "electors" were. They were princes of Saxony, and the emperor was elected by them?
A European could answer better, but I believe "electors" were one of about seven heads of state within the Holy Roman Empire (hundreds of little states under a common imperial system) who were entrusted with electing the Emperor when the need arose. I think four of the electors were the heads of territorial states like Saxony, and three were the clerical heads of church city-states.
yes, now they are: the new palace connects the other two on their southeastern ends. before its construction, though, I believe the water and the mountain palaces were free-standing, unconnected buildings.
and you‘re right, the electors (in German: Kurfürsten) were the high nobles who together had the power to elect the emperor.
Thank you! I would love to see that place someday. Imagine having two palaces so close together, but so different. Were they used all the time, or was each used for part of the year, or only when wanted?
It's quite interesting that the emperor was so dependent on these few people to vote for him, no wonder he was always broke. Such an influential lot they were!
Thank you for the beautiful distraction. Very thoughtful and thank you again!
I thought that, too, Annette. A beautiful distraction. I need it after yesterday.
Thanks for these lovely photos. I did not know about the place.
Beautiful! Thanks for sharing the images.
As for the midterms...those in the US who find dereliction and subjugation attractive will enjoy their future.
Beautiful. A nice respite from our election debacle…which you are perfectly qualified to comment on. Better than many Americans. 😆
Thank you for not commenting on the U.S. elections. Would only undercut your credibility. Alex Berenson failed this test.

euppius is a common sense writer (Alex is my-way-or-the-highway that will never admit been wrong. It helps him in some instances but is still wrong)
trump quote: "Well, I think if they win, I should get all the credit. If they lose, I should not be blamed at all.”
a stable genius, no question about it.
What a gorgeous cabin!
There are still some nice buildings in Dresden. They didn't get them all.
"I’m not qualified to comment on the American mid-term elections"
It's sad ... we're electing BRAIN DAMAGED senators (on top of geriatric Alzheimer’s patient for POTUS)
Either half of the country is braindead or there is very sophisticated election fraud going on

The photos are balm to my soul!! Thank you.

I’d just like to get the election results at this point but yes the markets are liking what they see also.

Or was it the Pennsylvania party machine at work again?
His stump speech was that he will be the 51st vote. Setting a high bar there.
The sense of place, a sense that is hard to grasp
for a lifelong city dweller. You can tell it was dreamed
before it was built. Entry image is stunning.
I don't envy the rich, as long as I get to gaze upon their
houses (when they have taste. ) (or just nature with
houses underneath or built in hidden ways).
Absolutely lovely. Peter the Great (and other early Romanovs) were charmed by this German architecture and replicated it while building St Petersburg and places like Gatchina.
If these architectural masterpieces were here in the US, they would be destroyed.
I do not have much to say about our elections either.
I would love to have a boat with a cabin like this. .... well, maybe just the cute cabin.
Your photos are beautiful, thank you for sharing your adventure, and these lovely views!
Thank you! Cheered me up. I voted yesterday and they claimed to have been hacked and “moved” our county’s 1.7 million votes somewhere
Enjoyed the photographs. So much to see in each photograph and it seems great care has been taken to keep them striking
