Most oil is not sitting around waiting to be skimmed off like cream. That was the early stage situation in the 19th and 20th centuries.
Steaming oil of out sands *alone* guarantees enough oil for centuries at current usage rates. Nobody is saying oil will be the primary fuel indefinitely, but there is no danger whatsoever of running out of oil in this century.
There is plenty of oil left - it's not feasible to extract it so it will remain in the ground.

Many people have done this. There is absolutely something uncanny going on with these "trips" -- especially DMT and similar. Assuming these beings are "extraterrestrial" in the sense of little green men seems to me strikingly naïve. Much more likely: demonic entities. I feel you have accurately diagnosed the current issue. Even here in the Northeast US (pandemia central outside California) there is little will to enforce measures. We've been wanting to move to lower our cost of living since about 2006, and then the market tanked in 2007, 2008 and we lost most of our equity for about 6 years. So now that we have built up our equity, we considered moving again. Then came Covid. We watched as the very states we were considering, went from red to purple and one even went deep blue. You are correct, for those leaving for “greener pastures” what makes anyone think they will be better off in another state? I told my wife and family, there’s no way I’m moving to another red state or purple state, only to live out my life watching another state decline all over again.
We have been praying for answers about what to do for a couple of decades as Oregon is in the running to be at the bottom 1 or 2 states for poverty, bad public Ed, high taxes and a state Gov. that costs each tax payer almost twice the national average for all 50 states. That leaves lots of room for improvement. So we are digging in to finish our lives right here. We will stay until they bleed us dry, or we’re dead. In the meantime we will do a reverse mortgage and secure the roof over our heads and try to make a difference, as long as we can afford to stay.

I went to a store yesterday and it's been 5 days since the mask mandate has been dropped. Almost 90% of people in the store were masked anyways. I asked the clerk checking me out if she was being forced to wear her mask or if she did it on her own. She told me she is high risk and has a lot of medical issues. I just thought she was fat...but anyways...the point of her being high risk is like a badge of honor now. It's like the Oppression Olympics for these people. The more scared you are and the more pills you take...the better person you are in their eyes. People are just too weak and meek in the West....and we are somehow proud it...crazy.
If she is high risk and wishes to protect herself, it's N95 (or better) or it's a good luck charm. Worn like medical professionals are trained to use them-- well fitted and so tight it causes pain and bruises on the face.

Yes, this has been my experience with people who still choose to mask - everyone is now "high risk" (and in appearance that risk is obesity). Not only is being "high risk" a vaunted status, we have also sanctified obesity (even more) when we should be doing the exact opposite.
I'm in my 50s, male, and heavier than I should be, which ostensibly puts me in that category. That said, I haven't been sick in the better part of a decade, and I haven't ever been the type to get a cold every year (I can't even imagine being sick that often). I am unvaccinated and I do not use a mask, and I don't hide myself either.
The thing is, life isn't safe. You can spend your whole miserable existence hiding under a rock for fear of what might happen... and yes, sometimes bad things do happen to people who come out from under that rock. But hiding under the rock isn't living! It's merely existing, by default. No matter how good your hiding skills, your time will come too. So yes, do what you can to mitigate legitimate risks, but don't let them rule your life. For just one overused example, I wear a seat belt in the car, but I don't avoid driving or riding as a passenger (car accidents being one of the leading causes of death). Being ruled by fear is a death unto itself... the death of the human spirit.
The source of fear must be discovered. If you recycle the newspaper without reading it and turn off the television, the fear evaporates. Even the fearful people become objects of curiosity. If there is nothing to fear, it’s very simple to avoid being manipulated.

I was at a funeral last year, and I met two friends who wore the mask. I told them we are outside, it is sunny, they can take off the mask. Both told me they weren't even aware of the masks anymore, and are more comfortable with the masks.

I remember reading about peak oil about ten years ago for a book club discussion. I thought it was a book by Jared Diamond, but I think it's someone else. Basically, it was a book about the collapse of civilization due to the lack of oil. One of the book club members, a scientist, said that fossil fuels are at the basis of our present civilization and there is no alternative. Your idea makes a lot of sense.
Without hydrocarbon energy, the world population would be drastically smaller than the near 8B we are at now.

The US at 264 Billion Bbls has enough proven, probable, and probable future discoverable oil to last 36 years with Canada adding another 165 Billion Bbls and probably another 15-20 years.

Same here in Iowa where the nothing was forced closed after June 2020 and masks not required since April 2021 - with a few exceptions like some doctors' offices - which is crazy since they should know better than anyone that cloth mask is useless. My DH is a doctor and does not mask or require his patients to mask but his overweight triple vaxxed receptionist does. In my college town still many mask anyway and some still think it is all the unvaccinated people's fault covid is not gone.
I will say that there is an anger and calling for accountability in parts of the US. Just today more CDC emails discovered which show poor decision making. There is much rumbling among the "regular folk" - across party lines and ethnic lines about what has happened. There is the ability to compare one state's response vs another - which did well, which did not. People have family and friends across the country with different experiences to relate to each other. Free Florida did much better than oppressive California - similar comparisons across the country. Fly over country also has little patience with CRT, gender / sex teaching in elementary schools - the whole mess of modern world. Even primary elections may be big this year as too many Republican office holders went along for the ride (and now beat the war drums). I am feeling hopeful today. perhaps it is just that Spring is in the air:)

All of us can walk in and get a hamburger, or buy dog food at a pet store, or buy groceries in a grocery store maskless. But in some places, the employees are masked. I flew last week for the first time since Covid started. Masking is of course required but the effort was half hearted at best. People were barely masking and many were openly defiant. Most oil is not sitting around waiting to be skimmed off like cream. That was the early stage situation in the 19th and 20th centuries.
Steaming oil of out sands *alone* guarantees enough oil for centuries at current usage rates. Nobody is saying oil will be the primary fuel indefinitely, but there is no danger whatsoever of running out of oil in this century.
There is plenty of oil left - it's not feasible to extract it so it will remain in the ground.

Many people have done this. There is absolutely something uncanny going on with these "trips" -- especially DMT and similar. Assuming these beings are "extraterrestrial" in the sense of little green men seems to me strikingly naïve. Much more likely: demonic entities. I feel you have accurately diagnosed the current issue. Even here in the Northeast US (pandemia central outside California) there is little will to enforce measures. Mandates are over, public schools are back to normal kind of, and universities are STILL holding on to a mask mandate (thankfully only in classrooms, because the great scientists have found it doesnt spread at Gyms or the libraries.)
But, knowing many PhDs in biological sciences, they will never give up this prestige. We've been wanting to move to lower our cost of living since about 2006, and then the market tanked in 2007, 2008 and we lost most of our equity for about 6 years. So now that we have built up our equity, we considered moving again. Then came Covid. We watched as the very states we were considering, went from red to purple and one even went deep blue. You are correct, for those leaving for “greener pastures” what makes anyone think they will be better off in another state? I told my wife and family, there’s no way I’m moving to another red state or purple state, only to live out my life watching another state decline all over again.
We have been praying for answers about what to do for a couple of decades as Oregon is in the running to be at the bottom 1 or 2 states for poverty, bad public Ed, high taxes and a state Gov. that costs each tax payer almost twice the national average for all 50 states. That leaves lots of room for improvement. So we are digging in to finish our lives right here. We will stay until they bleed us dry, or we’re dead. In the meantime we will do a reverse mortgage and secure the roof over our heads and try to make a difference, as long as we can afford to stay.

I asked the clerk checking me out if she was being forced to wear her mask or if she did it on her own. She told me she is high risk and has a lot of medical issues. I just thought she was fat...but anyways...the point of her being high risk is like a badge of honor now. It's like the Oppression Olympics for these people. The more scared you are and the more pills you take...the better person you are in their eyes. People are just too weak and meek in the West....and we are somehow proud it...crazy.
If she is high risk and wishes to protect herself, it's N95 (or better) or it's a good luck charm. Worn like medical professionals are trained to use them-- well fitted and so tight it causes pain and bruises on the face.

Yes, this has been my experience with people who still choose to mask - everyone is now "high risk" (and in appearance that risk is obesity). Not only is being "high risk" a vaunted status, we have also sanctified obesity (even more) when we should be doing the exact opposite.
I'm in my 50s, male, and heavier than I should be, which ostensibly puts me in that category. That said, I haven't been sick in the better part of a decade, and I haven't ever been the type to get a cold every year (I can't even imagine being sick that often). I am unvaccinated and I do not use a mask, and I don't hide myself either.
The thing is, life isn't safe. You can spend your whole miserable existence hiding under a rock for fear of what might happen... and yes, sometimes bad things do happen to people who come out from under that rock. But hiding under the rock isn't living! It's merely existing, by default. No matter how good your hiding skills, your time will come too. So yes, do what you can to mitigate legitimate risks, but don't let them rule your life. For just one overused example, I wear a seat belt in the car, but I don't avoid driving or riding as a passenger (car accidents being one of the leading causes of death). Being ruled by fear is a death unto itself... the death of the human spirit.

The source of fear must be discovered. If you recycle the newspaper without reading it and turn off the television, the fear evaporates. Even the fearful people become objects of curiosity. If there is nothing to fear, it’s very simple to avoid being manipulated.
You can still manipulate masses without fear through sheer direct force/violence, it's just far more difficult and expensive. Fear is simply a cheap tool to have the masses control and even kill themselves. Jim Jones and Pfizer come to mind. Remember that the Jones people knew it was poison.

I was at a funeral last year, and I met two friends who wore the mask. I told them we are outside, it is sunny, they can take off the mask. Both told me they weren't even aware of the masks anymore, and are more comfortable with the masks.
My 19 year old niece told me she prefers masking, and not seeing peoples faces.

I remember reading about peak oil about ten years ago for a book club discussion. I thought it was a book by Jared Diamond, but I think it's someone else. Basically, it was a book about the collapse of civilization due to the lack of oil. One of the book club members, a scientist, said that fossil fuels are at the basis of our present civilization and there is no alternative. Your idea makes a lot of sense.
Without hydrocarbon energy, the world population would be drastically smaller than the near 8B we are at now.

More and more people are learning that industry was more destructive than beneficial, and it won't be tolerated by most for much longer. Those people have been inoculated with new critical thinking skills that will make the world a better place.
The more important long term outlook is whether the demolition of trust in the medical system will prevent acceptance of future beneficial treatments, especially in the next pandemic, which might be much worse than this fairly routine one. That might be a good thing, if people learn to manage their own health better. The best outcome would be elimination of the primary comorbidity of covid and many other diseases -- obesity.

Same here in Iowa where the nothing was forced closed after June 2020 and masks not required since April 2021 - with a few exceptions like some doctors' offices - which is crazy since they should know better than anyone that cloth mask is useless. My DH is a doctor and does not mask or require his patients to mask but his overweight triple vaxxed receptionist does. In my college town still many mask anyway and some still think it is all the unvaccinated people's fault covid is not gone.
I will say that there is an anger and calling for accountability in parts of the US. Just today more CDC emails discovered which show poor decision making. There is much rumbling among the "regular folk" - across party lines and ethnic lines about what has happened. There is the ability to compare one state's response vs another - which did well, which did not. People have family and friends across the country with different experiences to relate to each other. Free Florida did much better than oppressive California - similar comparisons across the country. Fly over country also has little patience with CRT, gender / sex teaching in elementary schools - the whole mess of modern world. Even primary elections may be big this year as too many Republican office holders went along for the ride (and now beat the war drums). I am feeling hopeful today. perhaps it is just that Spring is in the air:)
And for the most part - Georgia is the same way with the exception of employees in the service industry???????? All of us can walk in and get a hamburger, or buy dog food at a pet store, or buy groceries in a grocery store maskless. But in some places, the employees are masked. Makes no sense.When I ask them when are you going to take your masks off they reply it’s the corporation that requires them to wear. Not sure what downtown Atlanta is like. I live in the suburbs and other than running into masked employees every now and then it is quite like pre-pandemic times here. but the cold hard truth is it is not pre-pandemic times. I flew last week for the first time since Covid started. Masking is of course required but the effort was half hearted at best. People were barely masking and many were openly defiant. Crowds everywhere and no enforcement. Covid theater at it's finest. The prep work for a great economic reset is done. The sheep know what to expect and will comply, generally speaking. Hang on for the ride. Pray, plan, prepare and RESIST.

I too was shocked. My wife and I used to take 3 day weekends to Vancouver but we have no plans of returning ever as of the convoy incident. I write this on a train bound for London, and as I scan this bustling commuter trainscape, I see a sprinkling of masks. No one talks about Corona anymore in this country. Life has more or less gone back to normal.
Change of weather in UK has instigated the annual cold/sniffles/hay fever/flu. Happens every year as we move from Winter to Spring.
We had one of our rare office team days for work last week.
On the weekend one of the attendant colleagues sent an email that after many attempts she had tested positive for the Morona.
On Monday another colleague reached out to tell me he “feels under the weather” but “despite testing daily” no Morona! Tuesday he let me know his “test came back positive”.
A teams call today with other colleagues: “I feel like a trains hit me but I keep testing negative” another “oh I haven’t come back positive yet either” a 3rd “I’d been testing negative as well but this morning it came back positive - I have no symptoms” the loonies then turned to me “what about you Trewpol have you been ok?” “Yeh I’ve been fine” “you must have an amazing immune system” “No I have a brain and common sense” I thought to myself.
But this is why Morona will linger for a good while - the loonies won’t let it go. All of the above except me have been triple or double jabbed and not one of them said to the other “of course you will be negative because your vaccinated”!!
