After Mandate Defeat, Lauterbach Vows to Bring Back Restrictions in the Fall

The Health Minister plainly hopes to punish Germany for rejecting his vaccination proposal.

After Mandate Defeat, Lauterbach Vows to Bring Back Restrictions in the Fall

Lauterbach on Twitter while the Bundestag

From the BILD report on Lauterbach’s statements at a press conference this morning:

The minister called [the failure of the mandate to pass the Bundestag] a “defeat” several times. Although Lauterbach had worked hard for vaccine mandates, he refuses to accept responsibility for the failure. The reason: He campaigned for the mandate as a member of parliament, “as health minister.” …

Imagine making such dishonourable excuses on live television and before the media of an entire nation.

“As a doctor, when a patient's life is in danger, you have to try everything and fight to the end,” said the SPD minister.

Lauterbach went on to say that the failure of the mandate also means we have “no more room for further relaxation” of restrictions. …

There are more than 300 Corona deaths a day, he said … “We will also probably have a summer wave, I agree with [Christian] Drosten’s assessment.”

Two things: 1) Those death numbers are meaningless, perhaps a majority of Corona hospitalisations are incidental, and a great many deaths are too. 2) This is the third summer wave that Drosten, Corona astrologer, has forecast. None of the prior two came to pass, but if he keeps predicting them, maybe he’ll be right someday.

With the so-called hotspot rules (which allow federal states to tighten measures regionally), “we certainly won’t make it through the Fall,” Lauterbach said. … “We have to take another look at the Infection Protection Act” and “go back to the drawing board no later than 23 September.” That’s the date on which the current legislation would expire. …

It will “very probably” now prove necessary to reintroduce masking rules in many areas, because Germany will be “entering the Fall with a vaccination deficit.” By then, “the boosters and the second doses will have a certain part of their efficacy.”

Lauterbach: “I really believe that we could have afforded more freedom in the Infection Protection Act with vaccine mandates from the age of 60.” The number of unvaccinated people over 60 is “much lower” in other countries.

What matters for the future is not how many people are vaccinated, but how many people have immunity to SARS-2. Mysteriously, nobody wants to conduct large-scale representative seropositivity surveys, but you can be sure that almost every last person in Germany has antibodies of some form to the virus. More vaccines won’t change anything, but Lauterbach is clearly angry and hopeful that after the summer, he’ll have a chance to punish the nation that rejected his scheme for mandatory injections. It is honestly terrifying to be ruled by unstable lunatics like this.

People need to understand something about doctors -- for them, what a normal person considers the means are the ends. It's not that medical intervention is necessary to achieve certain desirable ends, but that medical intervention is necessary no matter what. To be a doctor is to intervene medically, it really is an existential issue for them. In fact, the more harm a doctor causes, the more justification they have for further medical intervention, so they desire as much harm and to be as invasive as possible.

And before anyone jumps in: yes, "all doctors".

Why always such a dedication to the masking and never a mention of vitaminD, C supplementation or losing weight or exercising. The focus always, always on the restrictions and the masking? It’s the same here as there. I’ve never seen it mentioned in mainstream media ever.
