A lot of us feel like we just woke up from a multi-year coma and are wondering what the hell happened to everything and everyone. Everything that wasn’t firmly nailed down has been shaken loose - relationships, companies, people, policies, ideologies, etc. And what’s really shocking is that rather than coming in with a hammer and fixing the problem, they just keep shaking things looser and looser. I come here to remind myself that there’s still some sanity left.

In fact, it reminds me of Jesus' apocalyptic discourse in Mark 13: "False christs and false prophets will arise and perform signs and wonders, to lead astray, if possible, the elect. But be on guard; I have told you all things beforehand." I'm not saying we're in some unique historical moment, because these have come and gone in human history; but this feels like one of those moments when the order is shaken loose and only what's solid can remain. As Hebrews 12 puts it: "At that time his voice shook the earth, but now he has promised, 'Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heavens.' This phrase, 'Yet once more,' indicates the removal of things that are shaken—that is, things that have been made—in order that the things that cannot be shaken may remain. Therefore let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken." So who knows who's doing the shaking?
When they first came out, in our state on the Department of Health and Human Services, they listed several of the ingredients of of both. Moderna had SM102. Looked it up.. Holy Shit. Quickly taken down. Not for Human Or Animal Use! Period. Full STOP!
I was shocked when I read that the Biden administration had ordered 170 million doses. I'll be surprised if 10% of them actually are administered and would bet the house that the majority are thrown away. It's a mix of pure grift and regulators completely divorced from reality. Big Pharma has captured the apparatus of government and uses it to crank out record profits for itself in perpetuity. Nice work if you can get it.
Everyone I know who is over 55 who has already been jabbed and boosted is pretty much committed to being jabbed and boosted until they die. They just say "I'll do whatever my doctor recommends." So... if a doctor says jab/boost till death, they will. Some will just automatically do it.

I recently spoke to the inventor of the "3rd Foot Cane". She tried to get established medical supply companies to manufacture and market it. One had the nerve to actually say that it would get people out of wheelchairs, walkers, and possibly even canes. In other words, it would hurt their bottom line. She has begun making them herself and it has worked magic for me. That speaks volumes about the medical industry.

Not so fast. I’m 75 years old and unvaccinated and will remain so. Actually I think the millennial generation of 25 years to 44 years fell right in line with the government program. i’m happy to be part of the “skeptical generation.“
Guess I'm an outlier then at 44 and not injected (and no covid either). I was never concerned with covid and was never taking their shit - literally and metaphorically. Do not comply. My truculence saved my wife from taking the shots too fortunately!
I'm glad you didn't fall for the programming. Good for your and your critical thinking skills! I didn't either, and either did my stepsons in their mid-20s. However... almost everyone we know over 55 or so has fallen hard and can't see the light. Which is sad, because we expect them to have really unpleasant health issues at some point in the near future.
In my experience of attending many marches and activist meet-ups in London, Gen X has the largest share of sceptics (these tend to be people from mid-40s up to 60 or so.) My partner and I are older millennials and we find ourselves outnumbered. Nonetheless, we are still more visible than Gen Z (who are either brainwashed or apathetic) or the Boomers.
Perhaps where you live, Boomers have been more rebellious but sadly across those I know in my family and friend network, only 1 (one of my aunts) remains unvaccinated. (My mother, aged 73, has been critical of lockdowns and masks, but still went along with the shots.)
My theory, for what it's worth, is that age/generation don't matter, it's level of conformity. Aka... non-conformist types didn't get the jab, but conformists did.
A good friend of mine, age 72, and his wife, were very concerned about Covid at first, pretty much hiding out at home most of the time even when not required, and wearing masks out in public. He is a staunch Catholic conservative and Trump supporter, and was quick to take the shots at first due to trust in Trump. The masks have gradually come off, and antipathy to the Biden administration, plus a sense of aging and loss of energy post-shot, have slowly reversed their opinions. I believe they got their boosters with doubt, and later got Covid, which they recovered from like the rest of us while taking Paxlovid (happily, no rebound). The last outlook I heard was the wish to get the stuff out of his body. It's been a slow reversal, but I think he and his wife are generally done with these "vaccines".
I'm glad you're seeing people change their attitude. I've had very few people who are vaxxed say "no more." But there have been one or two. Which is always better than none.
No, there won't be a rash of new mandates in the USA. They basically don't have them anymore now except colleges and blue state government workplaces. 20% percent of the population will take it tops.
Where do you live? Most people in the US are stuck working and living in Blue cities. I’m still losing work because I refuse to get the old booster here in MA. You might be right, though. It will be interesting to see how many of the places that mandated the original vaccines will now now mandate the “improved” boosters. We should know in the next month.
Even so, an entire political tribe has aligned itself with vaccinations as a status symbol, and that tribe is more than 10% of the US. Even most of the older life long republicans that I know are on the booster train. I don’t think this ends anytime soon.
I m in the Silicon Valley. The fight for/against vaccine mandates on Google campus was brutal. It was 50/50. The mandates did not pass… We are in a private German school here and I guess we are the 5% who didn’t vaccinate our kids. Just talked to German parents over the weekend who vaccinated their three little kids and themselves and by now they are done. No more boosters for them. I learnt about this rat study from that dad last Saturday. The tide is turning though very slowly.
I find it interesting that Google, a company known for its wokeness was 50/50 on the mandates. I'm guessing vaccination rates are similar, which would put it much lower than the Californian average for fully vaxxed. Also, interesting would be to know the break down of pro/anti-mandate sentiment by job role.
Canada is a 'blue' country!!! However, I've heard it said that only about 20% are willing to get more boosters. Most people now know people who've been boosted 3+ times but still got covid...multiple times.
A local school, University of Western Ontario in London Ontario mandated boosters for returning students and staff (but not donors or potential donors $$$) but there were large protests so they moved the deadline from Oct. 1 to Jan. 9. Could be (and I'm praying) that as Jan. 9 approaches, they'll just quietly let it drop.

It was just posted on the Internet that no one will be allowed inside any building in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park without masks. Except for those forced to wear masks inside the University of Tennessee Medical Center, I haven't seen anyone wearing a mask in east Tennessee in six months. In that same article, the CDC recommended that everyone in Sevier County wear masks indoors. The pressure is mounting.
A work friend just went on a cruise from Massachusetts into Canadian waters (not sure where). Everyone had to provide proof of 2 shots plus at least 1 booster, a 2nd booster if it had been past a certain amount of time since the 1st, and put an app on their cell phones so they could be tracked - even though the ship did not dock and they did not set foot onto Canadian soil. #smh

It’s hard to know what to say any more. What words do I use to describe how ludicrous and evil this all is? I will say that, even if they tested it on a million mice, and then a million humans, for years, no injections for me. Of anything whatsoever. I wish more folks would open their eyes and minds, and just THINK. Don’t make decisions based on fear, or ‘safety’.
I can't tell you how many times I've uttered that phrase "I don't know what to say" since the beginning of the pandemic. Early on I thought of it as akin to "screaming into a hurricane." The fear and panic and all the non-stop messaging made it impossible for reason to gain a foothold. But fear can't last in perpetuity. There is an eye to the storm, and there will be an end to this.
I think what this whole episode, together with the climate change scam, has shown is what a poorly educated (in a general sense) rabble our so-called developed Western societies are despite all the money spent on formal education and how many are processed through higher education.

The original promise of the mRNA vaccine technology was that the formulations could be quickly changed and manufactured to respond to new diseases. The initial trials for the vaccines targeting Omicron variants showed that OAS made new formulations ineffective. This is probably why they aren’t doing human tests again. But the pharmaceutical companies promised new variant specific vaccines, so we are getting new vaccines whether they work or not. I expect that the plan is to have updated vaccines twice a year and they will stop testing them entirely. The industry is just trying to get this established as a much more profitable and mandated flu vaccine.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they're using the precedent of annual flu vaccines, which do not require human testing. If the original vaccine was OK, any updated version will be OK. Which seems like a pretty flimsy foundation to me.

There are only a few options to explain this, given that very few Americans are going to be convinced to take these 'vaccines':

4. The Biden administration is intent on laundering taxpayers money via Pfizer, making Pfizer ever richer, the public finances ever poorer, and knowing full well that the uptake will be nowhere near 171 million doses, so they'll be wasted.
What's remarkable is that #4 is the best case scenario, just good old-fashioned corruption and greed on a massive scale. Yet we are hoping and praying that *it's only* that and not something more nefarious.

The bivalent booster approved in the UK is Moderna's, based on the now extinct Ba.1 spike, which has at least been trialled on a few humans, though judging by the past human trials, that's probably only a minor improvement on 8 mice.

Sure, it was only 8 mice. I can't tell you how many times I've uttered that phrase "I don't know what to say" since the beginning of the pandemic. Early on I thought of it as akin to "screaming into a hurricane." The fear and panic and all the non-stop messaging made it impossible for reason to gain a foothold. But fear can't last in perpetuity. There is an eye to the storm, and there will be an end to this.
I think what this whole episode, together with the climate change scam, has shown is what a poorly educated (in a general sense) rabble our so-called developed Western societies are despite all the money spent on formal education and how many are processed through higher education.

Ah, how my expectations have evolved. I remember reading about the original juice trials, back in the day. I nearly fell off my chair when I read that they excluded old people and people with comorbidities such as diabetes, i.e. precisely the people who might, in principle, benefit from the juice. The original promise of the mRNA vaccine technology was that the formulations could be quickly changed and manufactured to respond to new diseases. The initial trials for the vaccines targeting Omicron variants showed that OAS made new formulations ineffective. This is probably why they aren’t doing human tests again. But the pharmaceutical companies promised new variant specific vaccines, so we are getting new vaccines whether they work or not. I expect that the plan is to have updated vaccines twice a year and they will stop testing them entirely. The industry is just trying to get this established as a much more profitable and mandated flu vaccine.
And to get them on the childhood vaccine schedule.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe they're using the precedent of annual flu vaccines, which do not require human testing. If the original vaccine was OK, any updated version will be OK. Which seems like a pretty flimsy foundation to me.

It's not just in the US. IIRC, these boosters have been approved in the UK, and potentially the rest of Europe.
The bivalent booster approved in the UK is Moderna's, based on the now extinct Ba.1 spike, which has at least been trialled on a few humans, though judging by the past human trials, that's probably only a minor improvement on 8 mice.

They have actually tested it on 11 mice, but 3 mice were excluded due to "protocol deviations".

Even more amazing is that the only mouse that remained male also happened to be the only mouse to not vote twice for Biden in 2020 and is now being audited by the IRS over the paycheck protection loan he used to keep paying the employees of his non-essential business that eventually became non-existent because We Are All in This Together.
Obviously Covid is dangerous so let's not cherry-pick from !THE SCIENCE!, this only delays Utopia even longer.
