Zelensky will win the Nobel Peace Prize next, just like Obama did when he was droning civilians.

Expand full comment

The list of Nobel Peace Prizes is the most black-pilling thing I have ever encountered. Alternates between random brown people you've never heard of standing up for liberal values in the global south and shallow western liberal icons like the European Union and Al Gore.

Expand full comment

I'm going to look at this as a way to simplify my life. I can now ignore all awards.

The Nobel Prize can join the Pulitzer Prize as a celebration that alternates between mediocrity and imbecility with a hefty dose of politics.

The upside of this prize announcement: AT LEAST IT WASN'T AWARDED TO FAUCI.

Expand full comment

I would love to see Fauci get a Nobel. Soros, even more. These institutions are outing themselves, and anything that speeds that up I am for. Similarly, I'm glad the CDC and FDA are pushing COVID jabs, if they reverted to near-sanity that would be good for their reputations. I want their reputations as trashed as possible, to reflect the scumbags they are. Anyone still getting jabbed has chosen their side so no sympathy from me, except for their poor, innocent, damaged children.

Expand full comment

Your cynicism is well-articulated. It's hard to believe these agencies still act responsibly at times. For example, the FDA still occasionally refuses to approve a new product. I'm sure there's a rational explanation. In this case, perhaps that committee members received "compensation" from the product's competitor, for instance.

Expand full comment

"AT LEAST IT WASN'T AWARDED TO FAUCI".

You could qualify that with a "yet", Rosie.

Expand full comment

Nice. That's right. Pulitzer's awarded for articles that lifted a political campaign's hit piece almost verbatim and then never retracted when it was proved (which most of us realized from the get go) the pieces were completely fabricated.

Someone very close to me recently worked an event at Al Gore's house. She had the opportunity to go into his wine cellar. Eugy, the man is worth 400 million dollars, and he drinks screw cap wine. Apparently the most high end thing he had in there was Veuve Clicquot. Not even a reserve or a vintage wine, but NV yellow label! These people that run the world are peasants elevated far above their station. I mean, for that same $60 you can get a decent bottle of growers champagne that actually uses best agricultural and viticultural practices and isn't owned by a heartless corporate conglomerate that rapes the soils of Champagne, things that Mr. Gore has made a fortune pretending to care about. I was reminded of the BAP bit shitting on Obama's tasteless state dinners—it was nice to have this confirmed second hand.

Expand full comment

I used to work high end restaurants- you see this kinda shit all the time in the rich crowd.

IIRC, it was one of the Muppet Movies that had the incredible line when a character was ordering a bottle of wine- " Would Madame like to sniff the bottle cap?"

Expand full comment

Or you'll see the mirror image, which is the rich guy who says "whatever your most expensive bottle is, I'll take two." I'm acquainted with the type from my days in south Orange County leading up to the market crash.

Expand full comment

Well, that is still a step up in quality from my earliest wine experiences: homemade hard cider made but putting some sugar and baking yeast in the apple juice bottle and leaving the mess atop the gas water heater to ferment.

Expand full comment

Well, speaking as a home brewer of many things, kombuchas, wines, beers, even cheeses - is a cheese a brew? sorta... Screw caps are wonderful things. That in and of itself is not a good reason to put Obama's head on a pike; I can forgive it. Esp where there are so many other better reasons.

Expand full comment

Screw cap wine is fine for everyday wines and the like, but if you're gonna have a designated wine cellar, there better be something more than just Veuve.

Expand full comment

For obama, Hillary and theat crew, a fine aged hemlock should be just fine.

Expand full comment

Not to defend Al Gore but in South Africa more and more excellent red wines have screw caps. The wine makers say it is actually better but they cannot convince Europe yet

Expand full comment

Strange that you pick that example when the whole medical profession has been gaslighting us about the biological effects of consuming various dietary fatty acids ever since Ansel Keys pulled his Six Nations Study scam back in the 60s.

The idea that consuming animals fats is somehow bad for you despite the fact that human beings have been doing it for all of history (hello, adaptation) - here, eat these industrial processed oils we recently invented instead - is one of the great lies of the 20th century and is a major factor in the obesity epidemic that exploded in the west from the 80s onwards. It has impacted the lives of billions of people.

The late Christopher Hitchens said the Nobel Peace Prize was the way the Europeans voted for US President in 2008. And sure enough, 11 months after he was elected - Oct 2009 - he was awarded the NPP. As I recall, while the drone missions started immediately, Jan 2009, the real ramp up was after the peace prize; 500+ missions - 3,800 killed (Google is frank) - towards the end, he is said to have boasted to staff: "I've gotten real good at killing people."

Bill Gates, by the way, is said to be furious that he has so far not been awarded the Peace Prize.

While i agree with the spirit of the comment, it is incorrect that Obama won the prize when he was droning civilians. He was awarded the prize right after his assuming office, before he started droning wedding parties and funerals. Perhaps, he was emboldened by the award.

Apparently the photo of them wearing masks was from another award ceremony last year called the "Japan Prize" which took place in Tokyo in April 2022. The NP ceremony has not yet happened, just the announcement of the winners. The NP ceremony will be held in December 2023.

https://www.japanprize.jp/data/foundation/2022jpnews66_e.pdf

Everyone at the Japan Prize award ceremony was wearing masks, and apparently the crowd was social distancing. Nearly a year and a half after the toxic fake-vax was released. So yeah, not exactly a ringing endorsement of the toxic fake-vax. It will be interesting to see if they wear masks to the NP ceremony.

Were people still commonly wearing masks and social distancing in April 2022? I don't remember that being the case ... but then again, this event was in Tokyo ... so.

Yeah, but Japan is known for his love of face masks well before 2020. In fact I think it was often criticized exactly because that made no sense VS respiratory viruses, though it may (I don't really know if that's the case) help with macro particles due to engine combustion and other kinds of pollution. So I think that "non masking" in this case would mean something inappropriate given the circumstances, kinda like ignoring the dress code.

That is a fascinating article. Thank you.

“However, I see no reason for indignation at what was done in the 1940s as at that time there were no other alternatives!”

The Nobel article defending the lobotomy is enough to discredit all Nobels. It needs to be read. The question I have is what political consideration caused the Nobel prize to be awarded to the lobotomy. Did there happen to be some type of populist movement against forcible brain damage in the late 1940’s that needed to be combated by the “experts”?

Expand full comment

That alone should prove that awards in medicine (and OFC also other fields) should be given some 20 or 30 years minimum, after a technology/method has been thoroughly tested. And that Nobel officials have no interest for the highest standards of science and epistemology: they're like the Oscars.

Unfortunately mankind needs time to learn things, and does that almost always the hard way: hurting itself (that is the curious, weak and unlucky ones).

For nigh on 16 years, the Nobel Committee has refused inviting the leader of the Sweden Democrat party, Jimmie Åkesson, to the grand dinner held at the awards ceremony. It is tradition that all the leaders of the various parties with at least one seat in the Riksdag (parliament) be invited - but they refuse him until this year.

Reason given was, he and his party does not share their liberal democratic principles, they've said for years now.

While inviting representatives and dignitaires from China, Saudi Arabia, Turkey and many other blood-soaked dictatorships

Mr Åkesson, whose party is the second largest and who got 20.5% of the vote last election, was invited this year and politely declined to participate.
