When will the hyperdemocracy force AfD supporters to wear stars? They’re literally Putler! Navalny is a martyr, but not any of the deplorables in the west who are arrested for protesting their governments.

Remember, Germany is a very free and democratic country. There is no recent precedent for forcing people to show papers to access basic services or voluntarily buy and sell things. There is also no recent precedent for stopping people freely assembling.

Such measures belong firmly in our shameful distant past so it is unthinkable that such could be re imposed.

So far the AfD supporters have dodged public shaming by keeping their sentiments secret. But new AI algorithms should be able to sniff out LIKELY AfD supporters by using metadata from social media, online purchases, and subscriptions to Substack. It's only a matter of time before warnings are issued and sanctions imposed BEFORE disgruntled Germans actually express forbidden opinions or, God forbid, actually vote for an AfD candidate.

- The USA (court cases against Trump and his allies)

And it was previously happening in the UK (attempt to stop Brexit and punish its supporters, albeit this was unsucessful).

For all we know, maybe the court ruling did not even come from an individual judge. Maybe they are like cardboard cutout figures, who are instructed from on high what their decision is to be.

I am impressed by your ability to keep a sense of humour in these circumstances.

It seems to me that the regime is seriously rattled in Germany, which given the importance of the country to the American Empire, is perhaps unsurprising.

The totalitarian action we now see, unironically described as protecting democracy, is the inevitable result of the liberal utopia of full spectrum worldly pleasure dying a slow and agonising death.

I think it is right to assume that this will both get much worse before it gets better, and that it will spread to other outposts of the Empire.

I also think that the incipient economic collapse fostered by incompetence and the green agenda will change matters dramatically. I don’t know if it will be for the better, but it will be different.

Whereas the ousted group, social democrats, on the other hand instead thought that a slow corruption of public institutions were a more appropriate way to convert the world to socialism.

Their play-books included tactics like throwing bricks at their own protesters to garner public sympathy.

I can't see what can be considered legitimate about such groups?

Hyperdemocracy is now replaced by 'warp-speed'-democracy.

Meanwhile, the UK is well placed to export number counters to Germany.

The famous Labour Party MP Jess Phillips suggested in the past few days that '“millions” of white men beat or murder women each week'. About 35 million women in the UK, apparently all gone in a few weeks. Should we seek to import women instead of young men?

Another famous Labour Party MP, Diane Abbott, suggested thousands of new Police recruits would be paid about £1700 each per year (enough for nothing but a few hours of finest UK electricity). I think you will agree, that's an astounding grasp of numbers.

We can export these fine politicians to Germany to assist in any counting that may be required. They are both highly self-regarding and can use their fingers if required.

My favourite part is that they all clearly don't know what the answer is, but you just know that each guy is thinking "IDK what it is, but I'm going bigger than the last guy"

For those not able to click through: it's a dude asking a bunch of climate change policymakers what they think the percentage of CO2 in the atmosphere is. The answers he get are "5%", "5%", "7%", and "8%". The correct answer 400 ppm, or 0.04%.

Expand full comment
Andrew Marsh's avatar

Literally astounding

Expand full comment
Eidein's avatar

The most amazing part is that anybody who does anything at all with CO2 would know immediately that the answer is 400 ppm.

I own a CO2 monitor, I used it to figure out that my office building was violating OSHA requirements with ~2000 ppm CO2 levels, and the way that pretty much all CO2 monitors (except the stupidly expensive lab-grade ones) are calibrated is that they get put outside for 24 hours, and they mark the lowest level they measure as 400 ppm, because that's what atmospheric concentrations are. So when my meter said my office building was 2000 ppm, I have no idea if it was actually 2000 ppm, I just know it was 1600 ppm higher than outside.
