Best comment I've seen so far: in "monkeypox", the K is silent.

pandelis's avatar

money ?? may be ...

Tardigrade's avatar

It's a general joke about the manufactured nature of pandemics lately.

pandelis's avatar

wishful thinking ... this is no joke.

Tardigrade's avatar

A satirical joke. Not belittling the point of it at all, which is that money probably undergirds all, or most, of the attention it's getting.

The Watchman's avatar

Whether you stole it or not, it's still excellent!!!

Andrea's avatar

Saw a meme today that said

Can’t believe it’s monkey pox season already.

I still have my Ukraine decorations up.

🤣

Watch the media hysteria for what happens next. The more amplified the fear irregardless of threats, the bigger their plans.

at this point you have to try real hard to see a bright side.

I love the beautiful photograph on this post. As I do your writings. Trying not to dwell on the fact that our ‘government’ (whatever that means any more) is spending $119 million of our taxpayer monies on a monkeypox (moneypox) vaccine. More of our $ being transferred to Big Pharma, as they laugh at us.

eugyppius's avatar

it's a view through the gates of the DDR-era capacitor factory in Görlitz (where I've spent the past few days on a hastily arranged trip). closed since the 1980s I think

i looked it up - they closed to transfer production to a bigger facility, then the DDR collapsed, the market was flooded with cheaper Asian capacitors, and that was the end of it.

INGRID C DURDEN's avatar

and i read yesterday that the US has enough pox vaccine available to immunize (more or less) the whole population. Just another way of spending what they haven't got. This government is just wasting money as if it were dirty water.

Suzy Cue's avatar

Yes, I saw that, too. So, we already had a bunch we probably wouldn’t ever need. Trying to figure out who the heck makes and approves these decisions confirms how completely corrupted our ‘government’ is.

cathietheconservative's avatar

It’s actually a newly approved version. Check it out. And I’m not taking any shots none. Nope. None.

Potatodots's avatar

They also have stores of the treatments, which are less risky than the jabs. Dr. McCullough mentioned that the other day.

Martha's avatar

A $119M PR stunt to show they are on top of things...

pandelis's avatar

add another couple of zeros and it is still peanuts at these levels.

John Bowman's avatar

And they won’t want to keep it on the shelves unti expiry date, so expect Monkeypox vaccine mandates.

After seeing the latest craziness about Monkey Pox, I examined my left arm to see if my smallpox "we're just gonna scratch ya, honey" vaccination mark was still visible. Couldn't find it, so I suppose the almost 70 years since getting it as a child from an army nurse has allowed my old body to consume the dime-sized circular scar on my upper left arm (no longer a python of muscles, alas).

As it would happen and perhaps relevant (who knows for sure these daze) to the Monkey Pox that's potentially gonna blister our arms and dial up our fear buttons, I watched a weird but telling video on youtube just the other day. Entitled "Ghosts in the Machine," this slick 3.5 minute film can be seen at https://youtu.be/VA4e0NqyYMw and is certainly worth watching if you have room for one more odd thing to think about. Captioned as being produced by "The Official Youtube Channel for 4th Psychological Operations Group (Airborne). 4th PSYOP Group Soldiers are experts in all functional aspects of tactical, operational and strategic level inform and influence operations."

I mean, seriously, reading news, opinion pieces, websites, and stacks online is getting so bizarre, I'm beginning to feel like a character in a strange novel. With that said, if this IS all being orchestrated (which I still can't quite believe), I have to admit I'm perversely fascinated to see how it all unwinds.

I'm also glad I'm in Act V of my life and probably won't live long enough to see where all the madness is really headed because I fear it's headed to a bad place.

I could have written the exact same comment, and as I type that I realize that 55 is not actually very far away at all from 'nearly 70'...

Prior to the "Syrian" immigration wave in Europe in 2015, I was a devoted listener of the BBC and similar news outlets. Even then I kept wondering: why do they report on Syria so much? It was constantly the top story, no irrelevant detail was too small. And there are so many other conflicts in the world and many were worse. In retrospect, I think we were being primed.

Quakeress's avatar

I am so tired of it all. So, so, so tired. The media, evil soulless clowns that most of them seem to be, are now doing monkeypox hysteria after two years of ill-fated and ill-advised covid hysteria. Meanwhile, politicians here in Bavaria will not leave well alone what should be left alone, it's all fighting for vax mandates, planning "measures" to provide "safe" schools in Autnumn and so on. I want out.

pebbleanttoast's avatar

They will have a very tough time: https://impfdashboard.de/ And I am certain they know it. The only people getting vaccinated are those getting their 1st and 2nd boosters, and the numbers are, relatively speaking, tiny.

But I will concede the mask thing is a quite likely....

Quakeress's avatar

That's what worries me - they'll try to tighten the thumbscrews in fall to get everybody to get whatever booster shots they want to push on them. Lauterbach just spent another 380 million for new ...I don't know who approves that kind of money while there is a surplus of the stuff anyway. Maybe it's their way of keeping him occupied, the way you give a toy to a child to keep them quiet.

Trying real hard to find an election pandemic. Times running out.

ChrisC's avatar

Exactly my first thoughts - something, anything to distract from massive failures of public policy going into an election.

Martha's avatar

Only three choices, so far: a COVID-19 variant, Monkeypox, and Avian Flu.

Oh no, we're having more fun here in the Triad of North Carolina. We have Chronic Deer Wasting Disease so can't shoot deer to eat; at least two new tick borne diseases, Heartland and Powassan virus; Murder Hornets to kill our bees which affects growing our own food. We are being hit by numerous things from every front it seems, or overly dosed by mass media hysteria. I prefer to watch YouTube cat and dog videos.

cathietheconservative's avatar

It’s the end times. Read the Bible. Get ready. One world government- this WHO amendment and smallpox “outbreak” will finalize deal.

Andrew P's avatar

How about all 3 at the same time?

Phil Davis's avatar

There are suggestions to use the smallpox vaccine to stop monkey. Ahhmm, with the clot-shot destroying inane immunity that should work well with a very toxic smallpox vaccine. The arrogance of the medical bureaucracy is breathtaking.

winni's avatar

Have you considered the fact that the Monkeypox can be as aresult of the Vaccine. Some of those who took the pfizer Vaccine have reported some Genital symptoms(HERPES) looking like this.

Potatodots's avatar

They are still finding different operative sequences in the virus which are reproduced in the "vaccines" with alterations/enrichments. HIV 1&2 (strains from 2017 and 2018, from Kenya, Thailand, India, HTLV 1&2, SEB, prion and prion-like promoting sequences, mouse malaria, staph A., there's more. I don't think the infection recovered are necessarily of Scott free, we have to take care and avoid flu and well, any shot. For the jabbed, I believe they need to take all the spike detox things they can, to try and blunt the spike making that apparently goes on a for too long a time, while decimating the immune system. I have no idea how they get their P53 functioning again. I really hope there is something for them.

winni's avatar

I believe that's why they are saying that one is only safe from the pox if one absteins from sex

...but their really elegant touch was making the leopard the culprit. Some things you just gotta salute.

InfoHog's avatar

Leopard? Hysteria?

-> It's vaguely related media reference time! youtube.com/watch?v=yMzyleT2FqY

If you cut away the bad parts of the lyrics, you can even make it fit...

Out of touch, out of reach

Hypnotized, shakin' to my knees

Can't stop this feeling

I get hysterical, hysteria

When you get that feelin',

better start believin'

Can't stop this feeling

Now just imagine these staccato-ized shortened lyrics in a Slayer style "song" instead of the cheesy original, ...

Kid, I still like Neil Diamond. You got the wrong audience...

So what, I like J.S. Bach.

Perhaps you are aware of the Netherland's Bach Society youtube channel, if not, check it out

I should correct my comment because I posted impetuously, before scrolling through the full notification. My tastes are more expansive than I may have suggested...

Cube Cubis's avatar

Is it possible that the money pox virus is actually attacking the immune system of the non pure blooded far easier than us PBs? If a virus is generally "hard to get" but suddenly it is far easier to get, it might start to go "ape shit" through the population.

A pox on both houses.

eugyppius's avatar

then we’d expect this to be the firsts in a string of exotic/ rare virus outbreaks. not impossible, let’s see what happens.

Cube Cubis's avatar

Yep. well this weird hepatitis, lots of weird stuff going on..... thank god i am a PB

jubal hershaw's avatar

Monkeypox is not a "distraction".

Monkeypox is A Warning...

A Warning to all politicians that

killer viruses "circulate in the community" - because the WHO says so;

that they "circulate" all the time

and can be called forth AT any time to make A point;

So sign the bloody "Pandemic Treaty", or else !

Monkeypox is a Warning to all to pressure politicians to "Sign the bloody Treaty !"

So The WHO can protect us from viruses circulation in the community...

Ryan Gardner's avatar

The truth it is you speak.
