The AfD took 51% of the in-person vote on Sunday but only 24.27% of the mail-in vote. In some places, the AfD got nearly 63% of the vote but only a little over 24% of the mail-in ballots. I saw that in 1 district, Magdeburg, the AfD only got 5.5% of the mail-in vote versus 41.5% of the in-person voting. One wonders how every party other than the AfD could receive more mail-in votes than in-person votes and by significant margins.
I find it much easier to believe (Occam's Razor) that establishment party voters are more likely to vote by mail ballot. ESPECIALLY since the AfD has been sowing doubt about mail-in ballot security: that would have incentivized AfD voters PARTICULARLY to vote in person. Using this fact and the discrepancies it creates to further discredit mail-in balloting is kind of elegant. (I personally would certainly not mind restricting voting by mail. If people can't be bothered to vote once every five years, they don't seem to be all that invested. I just don't see it as evidence for fraud.)
