Slightly off topic from this post, but it appears to me that, when the dust settles eventually, the entire covid vaccination saga will have made people suspicious of _all_ vaccines on an unheard-of scale. What do you think?

All but the most die hard covidians can see the utter lack of official interest in SADS and the like without knowing something isn't right.

We went from trying to save every life to not giving a **** when a healthy child "dies suddenly"

And in Canada we top it all by MAID'ing citizens for all sorts of reasons, inc depression and lack of access to medical care.

Canadian here too: think of it, a doctor or others can now offer to kill you! A person can commit suicide all by themself. They're asking your permission to kill you! There have been reports of veterans being offered MAID by veterans organizations. Oh I am sure our "medicare" won't be far behind. I would like to know if these things are happening in Canada (and coming our way certainly) because the people feel they have no choice ? Or, do the majority of Canadians actually support these "progressive thinking trends" and vote FOR them ? Like the United States, the people, the culture, the history would seem so very very opposed to such thinking and government ! I would have guessed Canadians to have a similar view of personal liberty as U.S. citizens... but for both our countries that seems to not be the prevailing sentiment ! ! ? ?

Yes, exactly, and so many factors involved in the "turning of the tide"; continuing gradual changes in "free public education" by dropping "difficult, useless, and boring subjects" such as history, economics, civics, government (including study of U.S. Constitution/Bill of Right/amendments. Gradual crack down on Christianity and other spiritual practices, ever increasing reliance on government for financial and social needs, gradual intrusiveness into medical history, privacy (questions like do you have guns in the house, do you have a pet, if so, what kind of pet, etc.) and it's like a police investigation; meaning unless you take each of these changes, post them on separate pieces of paper, and attack them to a wall in a contiguous configuration....otherwise, people barely recognize what is actually happening ! Gradual deterioration of all the factors that hold societies together, go check out history. Russian "revolution", close down churches, "adjust" schools/education, Roman distraction, interest, fascination with spectacles if barbaric human torture and killing, Germany, one one example of "divide and separate" to make a specific group your scapegoat (al la Saul Alinsky's book ) as a tool for obtaining your own end goals, and many, many more historic examples. For more, read the history of how drug addiction destroyed the ancient culture of China, an advanced culture that once venerated their elderly, made many significant scientific discoveries and inventions, valued family and life, etc. We seem to never learn from the history of the world, to value it, to teach it, and most of all to see the WHOLE picture of the direction we are headed. Only children and those who attempt to remain as children can realistically be called innocent. No one else.

The be adult as in a fully independent living man or living woman is to take full responsibility and accountability for who and what we are and all that we do - no if buts or maybe permitted. That's life

The very fact of being present, of seeing, hearing, feeling, is to be a part of all that is - only a child who is yet to come to full awareness of presence may be excused this simply reality.

Yes, picky point. However, I know that “adults” are only fully independent when they make the choice to be and commit 100%to that. Victims only choose to be victims by giving all their power to the “bullies”.

In USA our only access to any important stories the might be "troubling" to the "official government stance", is through ONE network only. Most individuals who "lean" toward a more liberal view, usually miss many important stories as the network is viewed as "conservative" and therefore not worth considering ANY of the news reports. However, they carried a story of a Canadian man's trials and tribulations in trying to find a doctor who would even attempt to treat the devastating effects of his Covid vaccination(s). Like here, side effects, even very serious ones, are considered "coincidence". It you happen to have worn a blue shirt to your injection appointment, the skin rash, numbness, or partial paralysis that resulted (and got worse following the second and third shots, is usually explained as a result of wearing a BLUE shirt, NOT anything to do with the "prevention vaccinations" ! !

I am already not trusting vaccines when I have to sign papers to not sue if my child dies or gets sick in some way from vaccines

Expand full comment

Rightly so. Vaccination as a means to simulate an attenuated natural infection is sound in principle and may well be less risky overall (but not necessarily for everyone) than a natural infection for certain infectious agents. However, given the shenanigans pulled for covid-19, it is absolutely fair to question the (potentially dubious) standards of evidence for safety, individual risk/benefit, and effectiveness for ALL previous vaccines given the sheer complexity of human immune systems and the consequences for long-term health implications of such interventions.

Expand full comment

I see a further aspect to this: Consider a bona fide expert or industry leader in the field of "traditional" vaccines, of the kind that are said to provide real immunity to the respective disease (e.g. measles, polio), an expert who is genuinely convinced that "his" traditional vaccines are safe and effective. Shouldn´t such a person be the guy who has the most interest in preventing ineffective and dangerous medication to be sold unter the label "vaccine" and consequently be the loudest voice against our current crop of covid vaccines? The fact that the "classical vaccinators" did not raise their voices (for the most part) makes me suspicious of how confident they really are about the quality of their own products.

Doesn’t that rather depend on the severity of the infection? Vaccination often reproduce a mild case of the disease anyway, so why not just get the disease if it is mild? CoVid being a prime example. It was mild or virtually undetected in 99%+ and only fatal in elderly sick people who were going to die anyway. More young, fit healthy people are dying now from the so-called vaccines than died from CoVid. Of course it is the case that childhood diseases are promoted as being devastating to boost sales of vaccines, whereas they are mostly are not with a few exceptions. The primary reasons why epidemics and severity of these diseases declined (and before vaccination programmes) in Western Countries are better personal hygiene, better sanitation, better nutrition and in the case of TB, antibiotics. Polio is a virus of the gut spread mostly by contact with infected fæces, so good hygiene and sanitation will greatly reduce spread - and in any case it is only serious in 1 to 2 cases per 5 000.

I think it has already happened to many people. I got my children all the required vaxes, including chicken pox, until Gardasil came out-- then I had to fight my pediatrician about that. I didn't want to do chicken pox either, but my older child got a "probable" very mild case and I had to quarantine for two weeks. That was awful, and I eventually got her the shot because almost every other kid had one and it was unlikely she or my son would contract it. As I didnt' know whether or not she'd actually had it, I didn't know that she'd be immune as an adult. Giving everyone that shot when no one had any idea how long the immunity would last seemed crazy to me, but as far as I knew the risks were low. Not so with Gardasil, which I thought was far too hurried, and was being pushes as a public health measure in lieu of trying to get people to stop being promiscuous. About this time I started noticing that flu shots, which used to be recommended only for the elderly and those at risk, were being urged on everyone. Doing some research into public health for my work at the time, I developed a healthy and well-warranted skepticism for the people in it and the work they did.

So I was quite ready to distrust the Covid response--but the shot mandates still shocked me. I could not believe they were being pushed so hard for what was obviously no real medical reason. Recently I read that hepititus A shots for kids were adopted because this is a disease promiscuous gay men get. I don't know if that's true but at this point nothign would surprise me. If people stop getting the essential shots and children once again start being harmed by returning childhood diseases, we have our public health people's huge overreach to blame.

This is NOT a "both sides are equally bad" cringepost, because it's clear that right now the systemic threat is so much greater from the left. But that said, the last time the right had real influence and a seat at the official table of power in the US, they gave us the Iraq & Afghanistan Wars and the Patriot Act, setting up the national security state and spying apparatus now being used against its own citizens who stand up against the Uniparty/WEF agenda.

This was not a case where the leaders did X in spite of their constituents. The vast majority of the right wing voters went right along with the "if you're not with us, then you're with the terrorists!" rhetoric.

My point here is that the right can easily be duped, using their values, and cultural and emotional triggers, into supporting things that are vastly evil as well. I think the left can't win if we are to have any hope, but that we need to be very careful that the right doesn't get duped, either. The right winning this power struggle is necessary but not sufficient.

This is a very good point, and I wonder if tyranny isn't periodically flipped from one "cheirality" to the other on purpose. Individual people need to develop red-line principles to protect themselves from this. I switched back recently in 2020 with the explosion of extreme wokeism and vax-covidianism on the "left." I didn't necessarily change my own fundamental opinions very much on either occasion.

Additionally, I believe there is also a significant number of individuals in government and just the general population, that regardless of what party they claim, they hold the deep belief that war does fuel our economy and provide employment ... perhaps they have never stopped to analyze what other factors could serve to fuel the economy ? Steel, oil, even "simple" manufacturing of such goods as furniture (with added benefit of lumber industry, reforesting of harvested timber, etc., tanning of hides from meat packing industry and reinstating of the making of shoes, textiles, fabrics, even manufacturing of clothing.... this list of ideas could go on forever

And most of all, both the "left" and the "right" are MOST vulnerable to what in my opinion are the number 1 and number 2 factors (I won't argue the order): the human EGO and MONEY. Send a man or woman to Washington, or to your state capitol, and it's only a matter of time ! If you can't get THEM with obscene amounts of money, generational wealth for their family for generations, then they will finally capitulate due to threats (either mental or physical, or both) to their family and loved ones. Many will argue, but to me there is no other answer than SHORT term limits.... having control over the lives of others, the budget of a nation, the health, education, even "safety" of the very food eaten, should NEVER be entrusted to ONE group of people for 20, 30, some even 40 YEARS. The old excuse that it is not good for the country to have people out of office ONCE THE HAVE BEEN IN OFFICE AND GAINED ALL THE VALUABLE EXPERIENCE, "LEARNED THE ROPES" SO TO SPEAK, is going to be the ruin of our nation ! Yet, we've "discussed" it for years, but those opposed to term limits always gain the hearts, minds, and VOTES of the "people" ! Most who have had the experience will tell you (if honest), once elected the ONLY focus from the day you take office is to REMAIN in office NO MATTER what moral or ethical, or even spiritual "accommodations" you have to make !

They MUST disclose them by law, but they run through them at such an unintelligible volume and pace that most people miss them. They are often BIZARRE , and I think to myself, do people actually LISTEN ? Are people actually willing to ASK a doctor for a prescription for something like....indigestion, or back pain, or ______, whose side effects are much worse ?

One ad for "intestinal" problems actually states that side effects can include: nausea, abdominal pain, and internal bleeding ! ! Dah !!!! So the law was written to inform the public, and surely the drug companies fought it at the time and were really frightened, and yet, it seems to make no difference to the public at all. I need to see my GP regularly to manage a chronic condition that I am quite competent to manage on my own, with occasional input from a relevant specialist. I know about 100x more about my (admittedly rare and odd) condition than my useless GP.

GP took, a year or so ago, a keen interest in my shots being up to date. This is complicated by being an immigrant, with no documentation of past vaccination (yes, I asked my parents, there is nothing). I had the whole lot, I know, as a kid, and again when I worked in hospital lab and it was an unwritten expectation to show you had the usual stuff, and more exotic things like Hepatitis B. Just something you did in that line of work.

Nevertheless, the insistence, that I take the latest three-shot tetanus/diptheria/polio/pertussis. And MMR.

Oh, hang on, why MMR? I had measles as a kid (everyone did, and, yes, I know someone who spent a year in a wheelchair with it), I had mumps as a kid (everyone did), and rubella? Well, as you can tell I am not planning to get pregnant any time soon so I don't really care. Sharp intake of breath, probably more at my clearly transphobic pregnancy comment than anything, and arrogant GP "absolves" me of the need to take MMR.

So many people who I thought were open-minded, evidence-based, distrustful of "greedy corporations" and "government over-reach", and so on, just became robotic rules-followers no matter what.

If you read history (I read a lot of it... never stop) you will note that there are many many many examples of the leaders of countries being treated very badly when they were toppled by the mob. Murder rape torture etc...

See Russian and French Revolutions as the most obvious examples.

When civilization collapses the old men who run the show can expect no help from the Praetorian Guardsmen... they'll be abandoned to the mob

And the mob will be enraged because there is no food - no electricity - no water... and they'll go looking to rip the faces off of those who they believe are to blame

There is nowhere to hide for these men -- therefore they go down with everyone else

Maybe. Of course the mob still needs to find them. And how far, fast, and accurately does a modern mob move, without food, electricity, water, gas, or working smartphones? I think it is already the case. Another aspect is a lot of children missed vaccination for childhood diseases so if as I suspect, it turns out we don’t have fatal outbreaks of these diseases, and those who get them are little troubled, it may make people wonder whether there is any need to vaccinate their children, given there is a small but nevertheless present risk of serious and/or fatal injury from these vaccines.

My uncle had polio and has a withered leg. When I was a child, I lived down the street from what must have been one of the last kids to go deaf from measles. These are not harmless diseases. It would be awful to stop vaccinating kids for diseases that will, if unchecked, harm large numbers of them all because we've let public health people run wild and convince us to do stupid things. "Burn it all down" is not a solution if only half or two-thirds are bad.
