You are the best writer on Germany in the world. What is buried deep in the German psyche that causes such madness and conformity? All the Germans I have met abroad are such NPCs about the current thing.

Mass demonstration FOR the current government?

To make this into a 100% Soviet farce, the demonstrations should be made a regular occurrence – every 1st of May, 7th of November...

"defend democracy" is the new fascist euphemism to cover their tyranny.

I've watched this and shudder in embarrassment at all those demonstrators who think they are the "decent ones" when demonstrating for an opposition party to be banned because Hitler. Cringe doesn't begin to cover it. They probably need a little more time in the German paradise. A few more rapes and murders, a few more job losses, a few more laws on how to wipe your bottom to save the planet. Stupid primitive f***ing idiots the lot of them. Sorry. Happy to be watching it all from a safe distance but it's still painful.

Dear Germany -- Please extract your head from your ass and try to be a normal European nation -- if there is such a thing. Also, please stop taking instructions from "Joe Biden," or whoever is running the "Joe Biden Show."

It's all very weird.

The meeting in November was in the news exactly at the height of the farmer protests (which about 70% of the pop approved at, acc. to surveys) and in the week when Germany changed their citizenship laws to make it easier to basically throw the German passport at everyone who doesn't actively resist it - three days after the news broke, there was play (!) about the meeting. Three days! There should be a new Oscar for speed-directing to honour this effort! The media clung to the same tired tropes ("deportation"/"Wannsee") as one; mass mobilisation took 1-3 days throughout the urban centers of the republic - this is too fast a response for the natural unfolding of a political scandal (which the meeting in Potsdam wasn't). It must have been preplanned and they must have been waiting for right occasion (knowing there was talk of a "general strike" on January 8).

On the other hand, not a single person I've talked to has expressed outrage at the Postdam meeting or eagerness to attend demonstrations "against the right" (not even the "far-right", or "right-wing extremists", or "hard-right"). Not a single person, not in a professional context, not at home, nor friends or aquaintances. As if the Berlin bubble of hyperventilating leftists existed in another country. It's absolutely strange and I wonder whether other German speaking readers had a similar experience these last couple of days.

I had just finished posting this comment to an earlier article but this article is more to the point. The headline from F24: 250,000 turn out to protest German far right's mass deportation plans. Certainly there are Germans who oppose the AfD. But this looks like a Psychological Operation coming from the failing Scholz partnership with the Greens. German state-run media no doubt will assist Scholz and attempt to turn back the rise in AfD popularity. The Biden Regime uses tactics like this frequently. One important difference is the lack of free speech in Germany. So far, that is the main tactic being used by Scholz's government to harass the AfD and 'weaponize' the legal system against the AfD. Being an election year in the U.S. and Germany, expect all manner of propaganda Psy-Ops in attempts to sway the electorate away from a wipeout of the Globalist elites now in power in both countries. The government is a powerful tool for spreading disinformation. The media in both countries will amplify the massive lies. As they always do now. There is nothing more desperate or dangerous than a Socialist Regime that has run out of other people's money. Every major economic problem that Germany is facing has been entirely Scholz-inflicted.

50000 demonstrate for the government and less than half went on the streets for the farmers and the truckers. What you said is the sad truth: "The government that came to power in 2021, via the votes of a complacent and politically ignorant electorate", and it is no different now. My vaxxed german friends are greatly enraged "AfD bad" and even if they are not very fond of the government , there is not enough emotional power to be enraged at it too. It is depressing to see how gullible and easy to manipulate those people are. Presumably intelligent friends of mine are sending me links to sign a petition to denounce the basic human rights of an (arguably annoying) AfD politician. They don't event think twice and reflect if his human rights are theirs or government's to take.

It's no different from the covid time where the majority of germans were turning on everybody who even asked questions regarding the lockdowns or the vaccines.

I am reminded of the time an event I was organising shared hotel space with Xi.

His goons behaved like they were the Belgian police, but that aside, the real surprise was how the CCP paid a group of enthusiastic citizens to wait outside the hotel and cheer as Their Glorious Leader drove out and in.

These ‘regime friendly’ protests have that same vibe.

That so-called “secret meeting” was a hit job. That’s how these people roll. Merkel/Obama folks try to incentivize people to set up places where they can record and then twist the words of those speaking. It’s partly why Trump only speaks in front of large audiences, so on social media, others can post the context of the words (oftentimes he was being humorous.)

I’m of the opinion that the only way to reach the ill informed normies (which still appears to be many Germans both young and old), is by massive food price hikes. Everything else doesn’t seem to phase them, “oh we aren’t putting on the heating because we are just like everyone else, we are trying to save the environment”, etc. But food prices here in the US has come at the normal American like a wet fish slapping folks repeatedly in the face. I was just staring at $22 organic chicken breasts (there’s only 2 in a package, large breasts, but come on!) when I sourced a local butcher with local meats for much less when I drive a further 15 minutes into the countryside. City people will not have that option. Nope, prices will have to go up and they will have to hit them very very hard, plus some more freezing winters, until these far left shenanigans finally DEI down.

You surely won't be surprised to hear that in the UK, the BBC have not mentioned the decline of industrial Germany or the anti-government farmers protest at all, but found time on the main evening news last night to hyperventilate about AfD and the far-right ThrEaT tO DeMoCRacY, praising the pro-government rallies.

It is quite depressing to see how far Germany has fallen in such a short span of time.

It is encouraging, though, to see the emergence of common sense rising in opposition. The increasing popularity of AfD and other political parties is a very good sign!

Won’t it be ironic if the East Germans, who were only reunited about 3 decades ago, save Germany from the tyrants? Those in the East know what tyranny is and they want no part of it!.

God Bless them!

The AfD are beginning to 'run away' in the polls, with some showing them leading.

As 'Germany goes, So Goes Europe!' Populism's rise & Triumph in the Continent is inevitable!

Massive Geopolitical Earthquakes incoming! The American led 'World Order' is a goner!

Derangement is the order of the day. Whenever I run into a frothing-at-the-mouth anti-Trumper, and they scream about misogyny or racism, or what have you, I know we’re not dealing with anyone who actually has a grasp of reality. And if the trend holds across western countries, then the sitting duck governments have to weaponize that insane gullibility as best they can.

Sometimes I am quite hopeful that we’ve woken up enough people to the sheer inept-to-evil that is our current overlords, and sometimes I realize that “awakenings” have consequences, and this may not be very pretty. *sigh*

Sounds exactly like the game plan in America. Change the names and parties. If you object to the Democratic game plan, you are an enemy of the state and a right wing extremist. Democracy must be saved using fascist and communist tactics.

Meanwhile, they declare Trump a Nazi while demanding the Jews be exterminated. And gays and trans supporting Hamas in the name of tolerance have no idea of what Sharia is.

It would all be laughable if not for the power the Dems have to enforce this stupidity.
