I refuse to give any of my time, data, and indirectly money, to a company such as Twitter, that does not respect free speech, so I'll just have to follow here.

we all hate them, but they have incredible reach, so some us will try to hold that beach-head for now.

I understand. Better you than me. Keep writing please... The world is hungry for the truth, or at least an intelligent discussion on what exactly that truth is. Anyone with half a brain knows that we can no longer get that from main stream sources. This is indeed a "fourth turning". Every single institution seems hopelessly corrupt.

You have to continuously pushback on twitter against all the nonsensical BS because without it the perception becomes the norm and the perception would be that the majority (at least in social media) are on board with the clown world level nonsense being pushed.

For as long as I can remember, the definition of a “vaccine” has been “A product that stimulates a person’s immune system to produce immunity to a specific disease, protecting that person from that disease.” The quotation is how that definition read for years over at the CDC. And that is what vaccines for such diseases as polio, tetanus, measles, diphtheria, etc. do. But a few days ago on September 1st, the CDC changed that definition. A “vaccine” is now “A preparation that is used to stimulate the body’s immune system response against diseases.” [!] So vaccines no longer produce immunity to a specific disease. My guess is that the Biden administration changed the definition because the current so-called vaccines no longer meet the time honored definition of what a vaccine does. Those who have been hesitant to take a chance on the current so-called vaccines may now be even less inclined given that under the revised definition, one isn’t really being offered all that much. As Humpty Dumpty said to Alice in “Through The Looking Glass” : "Words mean what I say they mean, no more no less. The issue is who shall be master, me or the words.”

OK, here's what I am wondering: what is really going on with "vax protects against serious illness" vs unvaxxed. Seems like I see data cutting both ways. Can you sort it out with your science-and-numbers brain?

Expand full comment

First, I invite you always to keep the bigger picture in mind. The universal vaxx campaigns were introduced to stop SARS-2, right, we should see an overall effect - regardless of specifics about who is vaccinated. Are deaths down? Are hospitalisations down? Not in my country (Germany), not in the Unites States, in fact they‘re down nowhere. So in that sense the vaxx don‘t seem to be working. The airplane is not flying.

Second, we have to ask why this is. How can the vaxx protect but not change the overall picture? Part of the answer is, the efficacy statistics seem to be bad. The reasons aren’t always clear. Vaccinated cases are tested differently, reported differently, in many jurisdictions. This an be very hard to work out, and may require local knowledge. But also, the vaccines changed the environment in which the virus circulates. They seem to have selected for worse (Delta) strains of the virus,. So you have the same hospitalisation and mortality as before, because the vaccines gave an advantage to a worse strain of Corona.

One need only look at what they (government and related institutions) are doing as well as not doing to see that this stinks. There are a number of health positive actions they could tell people to engage in to reduce covid risk like Vitamin D, loosing weight if you're obese, ect and yet the only path offered, the only solution being pushed for everyone including those who survived covid and have natural immunity is the vaccine.

"Once you realize that public health is the excuse and not the goal the rest of what they do and don't do when they should make perfect sense"

Apologies for butting in, but didn't Delta come out of India where vax rates are low? But somehow according to your picture, the variant is especially suited to spreading in more-vaccinated countries? The situation is hazy, but that doesn't sound particularly plausible.

Expand full comment

this is how evolution works: the vaccines select (that is: give advantage to) strains that already exist. they don’t cause them. when you vaccinate hundreds of millions of people, you change the environment in which the virus must operate, and you select for different strains of that virus.

Expand full comment

I think I appreciate the simple aspects of how evolution works. But according to the theory, should the Delta variant not have emerged in a region with high vaccination rates? That is where the evolutionary pressure for a vaccine adapted virus would be highest.

Expand full comment

No, the Delta variant was only *selected for* in an environment with high vaccination rates. It *emerged* via random mutations.

Expand full comment

It is the dominant variant in India, where the vaccination rate is low. That means it is being selected for in India. https://covariants.org/per-country

IMHO, the data has been intentionally obfuscated in the US to make it seem like that is the situation. Looking at data out of Israel, I do not believe the gene therapy shots do much of anything for Delta.

two things are happening I think: yes, some of the data is bad, but also, the israeli vaxx are older, so they’ve faded more, and they tell our future.

There were already 14 breakthrough cases in triple jabbed Israelis. Time will tell, but the bottom line is that the mRNA vaccines do not work well enough to bother. Everyone will eventually get Covid. We'd better focus on treatment, early especially, and advanced.

After it was alleged that an unvaccinated individual had become infected with the virus, recovered, became reinfected and subsequently infected other persons, an enterprising NY attorney made a FOIA request of the CDC to examine the claim. It turns out that the allegation was completely bogus. The CDC admitted that it has no documentation of this sort and further claims that it does not collect such data.
